Collection Contour Kit

For a few months I have been obsessed with the NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette. There is one colour in there that works well for my skin tone and makes my cheekbones pop. The only problem is that the palette is huge and not practical for travelling at all. That's why I added this Collection contour kit to my travel make-up bag. I picked it up on my last trip to London and it was the perfect opportunity to try this baby out whilst I was overseas in Scandinavia.

The packaging is not anything too fancy, just your average drugstore kit. I do love the mirror in there. Normally they always skip that with designing the packaging, but I have to say it's always handy to have something like that in a powdery product. I have to say I'm really impressed with the contour shade. Sometimes it can be hard to find a product that's not too orange on the skin, but this contour powder has that perfect cool-toned brown shade. It's very pigmented which can be a bit difficult from time to time but I always make sure to remove the excess powder on the back of my hand. I squeeze my Zoeva Luxe Face Definer Brush a bit so it fits perfectly in the hollow of my cheek and then I start blending. It leaves the perfect touch of ''yes I contoured my face but it looks naturel'' kinda look.
The highlighter is not one of my faves. I already knew this when I bought it, but I just wanted a compact contour powder that I had never tried before. The highlighter is very subtle and leaves a shimmering sheen on the skin. Going from my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone to this is a huge difference so I was happy to have my Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette with me too -the highlighter and bronzer in there are fab!-

For the price (£4.19) I think it's a lovely kit. The highlighter is not that sparkly, but that’s my taste in highlighters. The contour powder on the other hand is really good and I will definitely keep using it. Especially when I hop on a plane with only a cabin bag. I am just not made to squeeze all my stuff in a small suitcase, but I will keep trying for the sake of saving money!

The London Haul 2016 Take Two

A while back I talked about my London & Brighton trip and now I finally uploaded a video with all the stuff I bought. It's not as much as I normally buy, which to be honest, is way too much anyways. It still surprises me that I never have to pay for extra baggage, because that's honestly how much I pick up there.

It's a bit late, but I finally sorted my editing problems out and I am back on track. There are also two more hauls on the way, so get ready for some serious shopping cravings. For now I really hope you enjoy watching this vid and don't forget to subscribe to see when I upload a new video!

The Brighton Haul

I didn't just come to Brighton for the lovely seaside and a yummy stack of pancakes at Café Coho. I also came to do a bit of shopping! I absolutely fell in love with The Lanes. These cute streets are full of small independent shops with quirky items. And also: cake. Lots of cake. While I was walking through those small alleys I saw so many bakeries and cute tea shops. If I lived in Brighton you would find me in one of those places sipping tea and eating cake every single weekend!

Now since I love tea so much I had to pop in Bluebird Tea Company. I remember this shop making an appearance in Zoe's vlog and had to see what it was all about. In the end I left with two different kinds of tea: Gingerbread Chai and Nearly Nirvana. The woman that worked there was so lovely and clearly even more obsessed with tea than I am. I can't wait for the autumn weather so that I can snuggle up on the couch with a cup of tea and my favourite film.

As I walked up the road to the train station I also spotted a Boots. Now don't get me wrong, there are enough Boots stores in London, but it has happened way to many times that an item was sold out everywhere. I picked up the Super Facialist Cleansing Oil, that I also bought in January and one out of four Collection Lasting Perfection concealers (yes I picked up three more in London *insert my favourite monkey emoji here*). I also had my eyes out for a NYX counter. We have NYX here too -we are actually getting a big NYX store in a couple of months- but the items that they sell now are not the things I have on my wish list. I was happy to pop the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm and the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage in my shopping basket. I will put a full review of these babies on the blog soon!

I didn't buy a lot, but for me it was all about the Brighton experience. Sitting in Café Coho and watching all the people walk by, strolling through all those small alleys and letting that sea breeze through my hair. My visit to Brighton was definitely not the last and I hope I will be back next January to explore more of this gorgeous city!

Have you ever been to Brighton? What is your favourite thing about the city?

My love for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

When I was in London a couple of weeks ago I was there with a mission: buying lots of Collection concealers. Last time I was there I visited six Boots stores and a Superdrug too, but it turned out that they all ran out of this magical product.
As you can see I picked up five concealers and I hear you asking ''Why would you buy so many?''. Well it turns out this concealer is the best one I have ever tried and I basically can't live without it. Then there is also the fact that they don't sell Collection in the Netherlands, so whenever I am across the pond I pick up as many as I can. And it's also a great excuse to visit London from time to time, because when is a trip to London not a great idea, right?

This concealer is very popular amongst every person that is into beauty and sometimes these products are a bit too hyped up. With this one I find that’s not the case at all. I have been using this concealer for about three years now and it has never disappointed me one single bit. Instead it amazes me every single time I use it.

It’s available in four colours and ‘1 Fair’ matches my skin tone perfectly. I find that a lot of drugstore concealers are too dark and orange for me, but this one just seamlessly blends into my skin. The consistency is very creamy and the high coverage is so good. It also stays on all day which for an oily t-zone gal like me is really great news.

After trying it in my London hotel room I immediately fell in love again and ran back to the drugstore for more. This little tube costs £4.19 and for that price you can’t really go wrong. Definitely a product that you should try at least once in your life!

My Spring Make-Up Look

The sky is blue and the sun is shining; this can only mean one thing: spring is finally here. I am very happy with the warm sunshine on my skin and the happy colours that go with it. I do really like snuggly sweaters and a dark, purple lip, but the cold weather is something that I do not like at all. I am happy that I can finally pull out my bright lipsticks and sandal shoes to complete my spring look.
That’s why today I have filmed my Spring Make-Up Look. I have been wearing this look non-stop and I am in love with the blush and the lipstick. They are both amazing!

What's In My Make-Up Bag?

I have many make-up products, but my favourites and my most used products are obviously in my make-up bag. I bought this make-up bag a couple of months ago and it sort of represents my love for macarons, and make-up of course.
I am always interested in what other people use. From a peek in their make-up bag you can immediately find out what their miracle products are for flawless skin and voluptuous lips. Today you will get a peek in my make-up bag and find out which products are my faves!

GRWM Winged Liner Make-Up Look

Lately I have been very inspired by a few fashion bloggers. Their make-up is always on point and their outfits are fabulous. Negin Mirsalehi is the girl that inspires me the most and I LOVE her make-up. I think her winged eyeliner looks amazing, so I decided to try something similar. A couple of weeks ago I went to a b-day party and I always love to put a bit more effort into my make-up when I am going to a party, so I decided to get the perfect winged liner, similar to Negin’s.
Can I just say that winged liner is so hard to do. Matching them took ages, but in the end I managed to get two ‘sort of even’ lines above my eyes. I also used the Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry from my last post. This results in a lovely look with a Kylie Jenner vibe.

So see here my GRWM Winged Liner Make-Up Look:
(Disclaimer: Taylor Swift’s album was on repeat, so I am sorry in advance haha)

'Bad Skin Day' Everyday Make-Up Look

Today I wanted to talk about something that has been a big insecurity of mine for the past 7 years. Ever since I got my first blemish my skin got worse and worse, especially in the years when I was 16-20 years old. I have a lot of scarring, redness and break-outs that keep coming back.
Since November 2013 I have been getting facials every single month and this really helped to improve my skin. It still didn’t solve the problem, but it made it a bit better. Last December I was introduced to a wonder product. I call it that, because believe me it is THE BEST! This product is called Gladskin and I will do a full review of it on my blog soon, but this product really helped to fix all my skin problems.
A couple of weeks ago I did get a few break-outs and I filmed this video. I mainly filmed it because I had time to film and I really wanted to film an ‘Everyday Make-Up Look’. While editing it I saw that my skin wasn’t the best. I contemplated a lot if I should upload it or not and it has been on private for about two weeks now.
In the end I decided to put the video on public, because overall I am quite happy with how it turned out, when it comes to the editing part. The only problem is my skin and some of you might think that I should not worry about it. Maybe your skin is way worse or you just don’t care, but for me this was and still is a big obstacle. I decided to overcome this by uploading it and maybe helping some of you along the way.

While I am typing this my skin is actually pretty good and I filmed a new make-up look yesterday which I still have to edit. It will hopefully go up soon! :). That video will also be the last video with sucky video quality, because I got a present from my dad and it’s a Canon 700d! I cannot wait to film loads of videos for you, but for now here is my Everyday Make-Up Look on a ‘Bad Skin Day’!

The London Haul + Vlog

As you all know I went on a trip to London a few weeks ago. I saw all the highlights of the city and of course shopped a lot. I rambled up all my adventures in a post that you can read HERE.
As a beauty addict I couldn’t leave the British drugstores unvisited, since there are many good products in there. I went a bit too crazy in Boots and Superdrug, I have to admit, but I got everything I wanted!
As for fashion, I also went a bit cray cray. I love the style of many British bloggers, so to actually go to Topshop, Primark and New Look was amazing!

Instead of doing a blog haul, I decided to make a video out of it. Making Youtube videos is something I always wanted to do, so here it is: My first ever haul!

A few things:
1. I had a bad hair day and putting it up in a ponytail clearly didn't solve the problem.
2. I say the words 'super duper' and 'love' a lot in this video. Mainly because I was super duper excited about London, but in the future I will try to not use them as much. :p
3. The quality is a bit off, but I am hopefully getting a new camera in the upcoming months! :)

My London Wishlist

If you have not heard it already: I am going on a city trip to London this Saturday. I have been excited about it for months and now that the trip is coming closer and closer, I cannot handle my excitement.
London is my favourite city in the entire world. I have been there three times before and every single time I fall in love with the city all over again. Because of all the British Youtubers, who stroll around London a lot, I found many new food places and pretty boutiques that I NEED to visit.
Me and my sister, who is my travel buddy for this trip, are going to the Harry Potter WB Studio Tour which is super exciting and I am taking my sister for a lovely high tea at Bea of Bloomsbury’s for her birthday. We have nothing planned for the other days, but I already know that we will have some jam-packed days ahead of us.
As for my wishlist, I have a couple of things on there. Last year I spent way too much money in London and this time around I want to keep it to a minimum. I am saying this now, but wait until I go crazy in Primark and Boots haha!
See here, all the lovely things that I just NEED to buy!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This concealer is my everything! I love the colour, the coverage and the price. It is just so good for a drugstore concealer. Luckily my mom brought two concealers with here last summer. Unfortunately I lost one when I took a blog picture of it. I cannot find it anywhere *sad face*.

Revlon ColorStay Foundation
Being honest this was a love/hate relationship for me. I hated it at first. I bought the dry/normal formula when I obviously have combination/oily skin and it made my face look cakey. Until I went through my make-up stash and rediscovered the best foundation EVER! It is the perfect colour, it keeps oil at bay (surprisingly, since it is for dry skin) and it leaves the most amazing finish.

Topshop Jamie Jeans
They are my favourite jeans, so of course I need to buy a pair. I had one, but suddenly there was a huge hole, so I had to throw them out. I do have the black, ripped Jamie jeans, but with this cold weather I would like a pair that is completely ordinary.

Primark Turtleneck Sweater
So why did I used to hate these kind of sweaters and why do I want one so badly? They pop up in a lot of videos and they look so warm, comfy and cozy. I saw a turtleneck sweater in the ‘December Primark Haul’ from Becca Rose and it looked amazing! I cannot wait to go a bit mental in the Oxford Street Primark.

Pret A Manger Sandwich + LOLA’s Banoffee Cake
As a girl that loves food this is also on my wishlist. Last year I got introduced to the Avocado Chicken Sandwich from Pret and OMG it is so yummy. Definitely my favourite sandwich ever! And then I have not even begun about the cakes from LOLA’s. Everything in there is amazing, but the Banoffee Cake is delicious!

Of course I will show you everything that I got on the trip. In a post or in a video; I have no idea yet. I am also thinking about vlogging a bit of the trip, so you might get to see that too!
I will have no Wi-Fi the entire trip and for an internet person like me this will be hard, but also quit refreshing. I might pop into Starbucks once in a while to Instagram all my adventures, so you better follow me on there to see what I am getting up too. There are some posts scheduled though, so you can read those and I will be back in no time!

***Also if you have some London related suggestions like food places, Christmas markets or fashion hotspots that I need to visit, please let me know!***

Review | Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer in NW20

After I finished my well-loved Collection Lasting Perfection concealer I had no idea what I had to do without it. That concealer is amazing and so cheap. Unfortunately it’s only available in the UK, so I had to look for something else. I tried the NYX HD Concealer Wand  but I wasn't fully satisfied, with the Collection one in the back of my mind. This concealer from MAC is a YouTube classic and overall well-loved in the beauty community. It has been on my wishlist forever!

MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer in NW20. 7 g / 0.24 US oz. €18,-

According to MAC Cosmetics:
‘‘A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-blemishgenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin's imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains Silica to help adsorb the skin's oils. Concealer has an SPF of 35 and is available in a wide range of colours.’’

I got matched with the colour NW20 which, for me, is the same as number 51 from the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. With the summer coming up, and a tan hopefully, this suits me very well. It has a creamy consistency that blends into the skin perfectly.
Before buying it I heard that it’s exactly the same as the Full Coverage foundation from MAC. I was a big fan of that foundation two years ago and if you ask me, they are exactly the same. The only difference is the price, the amount and the SPF. A thing that you could do, if you love this concealer, is buy the Full Coverage foundation to use at home and the tiny Studio Finish concealer for touch-ups during the day.

The reason why I stopped using the Full Coverage foundation was because it looked cakey on me, from time to time. It also made me very oily during the day, so I switched to something else. This concealer does that as well. Of course you only place it on skin that needs more coverage, but still it’s not a nice look. If I don't powder it during the day I look like a shining disco bal. It lasts well, but after 8-9 hours some skin becomes more visible.

I placed a dot with an eyeliner and covered it with the concealer. If you look close you see a dark dot there.
All blended in. The dot is more visible now, but you can put more layers of concealer on top.
It gives really good coverage. if you have acne or scarring on your face, this will definitely cover it all up. I like to apply it with a concealer brush. For me this is more hygienic than putting your finger in the jar, every single day.
A little bit goes a long way and I think it will take a long time before I ran out. I also like that there is an SPF 35 in this creamy concealer. Blemishes and scars need more protection anyway, so this is a nice addition.

I do really like this concealer. As is said it gives good coverage, but can look a bit cakey and shiny at the end of the day. Bring a good powder and a setting spray and you are good to go!
