Little Red Chelsea Boots

If there is one thing I do well -besides eating and sleeping, obviously- it's finding the best items that are on sale. I love searching for a good deal -especially online because shops during sale season are a mess- and when I find one I get all excited and happy. As I said in the '10 things that instantly make me feel happy' post, shopping really cures any kind of sad mood I'm in, so when I found these red babes I was all pumped up.

Little of a back story here, I have been looking for red boots for ages now. I mean I want cute comfy ones, but not too expensive. Well let me tell you that's not easy to find. I searched everywhere, but a pair of gorgeous red boots won't come cheap and since I'm very poor at the moment -saving for NYC and stuff- I wasn't able to spend big bucks on a pair of boots that I'll probably won’t like next winter season anyways.
There enters Primark. The store that always saves the day when it comes to my fashion struggles. I spotted these red Chelsea boots at Primark in Amsterdam about five weeks ago. There was one size 39 left, but there were a few marks on the shoe, so after an internal conversation with myself -do you have those too or is it just me? - I put them at the same spot where I found them and walked away. I hoped I would find them in London a week later, but after searching at two big Primark stores I only found the gold version -on sale- and I was gutted I didn't pick them up in Amsterdam. If they were silver I would be all happy -silver boots are still on my list, so if you know a good pair let this girl know!- but gold is not really my kind of colour.
Fast forward to last Wednesday when I went to Primark in The Hague -that store is everywhere isn't it?- and spotted my gorgeous red boots, on sale , and in a size 39 -three pairs actually, so I picked the nicest one-. These babes ended up being €10 (!) and it honestly made my day. I also grabbed three hats whilst I was there and came to a smashing total of €23 at the till. That's what a fashionable, but poor, student loves to hear! The boots are faux suede, so not perfect for winter weather, but I don't care. I bloody love them so much!

I took them out for a proper walk today in Amsterdam and although my feet feel a bit sore, they do take my outfit to the next level. The red colour popped with my blue leopard fluffy coat and I felt so sassy when I had them on. Like I'm a proper adult walking the catwalk street and not giving a damn about the red being a bit too much. If only Primark could bring out the silver version too, then my shoe collection would be really complete. I already have so many pairs of shoes, but there is always room for one more, right?

What is your favourite shoe colour? Mine is definitely black, red and silver!

The London Haul 2017

There it is again: a haul! I've shopped quite a lot the past couple of months and I'm here to say that this will probably be one of my last hauls for the next few months. I just buy way too much!
When I'm in London I can't resist going to Oxford Street and pop into Primark and Boots. So that's what I did. It's not as much as last time -which is what I always say- but I did pick up a few bits and pieces that I enjoy using a lot. Some old favourites, some new classics and a lot of stuff in between. Enjoy!

The London Haul 2016 Take Two

A while back I talked about my London & Brighton trip and now I finally uploaded a video with all the stuff I bought. It's not as much as I normally buy, which to be honest, is way too much anyways. It still surprises me that I never have to pay for extra baggage, because that's honestly how much I pick up there.

It's a bit late, but I finally sorted my editing problems out and I am back on track. There are also two more hauls on the way, so get ready for some serious shopping cravings. For now I really hope you enjoy watching this vid and don't forget to subscribe to see when I upload a new video!

My Purple ASOS Velvet Sock Booties

ASOS is one of the best things that happened to my wardrobe, but at the same time it's also the worst because I want EVERYTHING. Whenever I have some spare time I open up the ASOS app and start browsing their shop. This usually results in a shopping spree and spending all my money on sweaters, accessories and shoes. I can't remember an ASOS order where I didn't purchase shoes, because their shoes are the bomb dot com.

See here my newest wardrobe addition: purple velvet sock booties. I saw them on the website, saved them and after looking at them a million times a day -you are shoe obsessed or not- I made the purchase. Unfortunately I had to send them back, because they were too small, but luckily a bigger size came back in stock -which is honestly the best feeling in the world-. It was like ordering tickets for an Adele or BeyoncĂ© concert, the anxiety of actually putting them in your basket and paying for them before somebody else snatches them away from you. But in the end I got them and I was so happy when my ASOS order finally arrived last weekend.

These booties are such an amazing piece for this autumn/winter season. They have that whole velvet, sock boot trend going on and I love it so much! The purple colour is so funky and so different from anything else I have seen. They are not the most comfortable shoes. I don't know what it is, but even though they are a size bigger than I usually am they still hurt a tiny bit when I walk for a long period of time. I am totally fine with that though, because walking in these awesome kicks is totally worth all the pain!

What are your favourite boots?

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm

Matte lips are my fave when it comes to make-up. They stay on really well, smudge less and look absolutely fab. While I was in Boots I decided to pick up a few NYX goodies including this Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm. Let's see how we get on, shall we?

The colour Stockholm is a lovely peachy tone that goes very well with my skin tone. To be honest, I think this colour will suit anyone. Yep, it's one of those! I picked up Stockholm because in the back of my mind I remembered this one was being talked about by quite a few bloggers. Crazy how that's the only colour of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams I remembered, because I'm sure there are so many other colour that are the bomb dot com!

Applying this product on my lips was quite easy and not much of a fuss. It's super creamy and after a few minutes it sets to a matte finish. I find that it stays on for 2-3 hours max. before it starts crumbling on my lips. I found that this is a very common problem with matte lip products and I have only found one product that doesn't do that (review coming soon).
When you are in a situation where you can reapply it's easier to keep your peachy pout perfect, but when I'm at work I have no time to touch up my lipstick. I will probably not wear this while I'm at work, but for other occasions I think it's perfect.
The scent is also really nice and makes me want to apply it more. It's not really overpowering and doesn't hang around for the rest of the day. I really don't like those artificial strawberry scents that won't go away. Am I the only one with this?

Overall, I think they are great value for money -they are only €7,65 (!)- and the colour is really nice. They do crumble a bit but to be honest which matte liquid lip product doesn't? I will definitely be picking up more NYX goodies in November when they open their own store in Amsterdam. SO exciting!

Have you tried the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams? What are your thoughts on them?

Masque Bar Brightening Sheet Mask

I have always been very intrigued with sheet masks. I started watching YouTube videos back in 2012 and Miss Glamorazzi (aka Ingrid) was totally obsessed with Asian sheet masks, which made me obsessed with them as well. A simple example of a beauty purchase inspired by a blogger or vlogger and to be honest: this happens way too often.
I actually never bought the sheet masks though. I had to buy them from Ebay and it was just a struggle, so I let it go. But when I was in Boots two months ago I spotted these babies in the skincare aisle and I popped them in my basket without thinking.

These 'babies' are sheet masks form Masque BAR. I went for the brightening ones, because I love an illuminating glow, but I already saw they have lots of different versions. They come in a packet of three and were on offer for six pounds (normally 10 pounds).
These masks help to minimize the appearance of dark spots and hyper pigmentation, leaving the skin looking more even and radiant. Since I have quite some hyper pigmentation on my face I couldn't wait to try it out.

I have to say I LOVE them a lot and I am quite sad that we don't sell them here. I apply the sheet on my face which, at first, can be a bit of a struggle. I then looked like a crazy person with a white mask on her face and I basically lay in a horizontal position for twenty minutes, being afraid that it would fall off my face.
When the twenty minutes had passed, I pulled the mask off and washed my face a few moments later. I could already notice a lovely glow on my porcelain skin that was so magical and amazing. I also saw a difference in the appearance of my acne scars and the overall redness that I deal with on a day-to-day basis. My skin tone looks more even and the pigmentation has faded a little bit.
My skin is also very sensitive and I was afraid to get an allergic reaction, but the next day I woke up with a lovely glow and there was no sign of red, irritated skin, which makes me fall in love with this product even more

I still have one sheet mask left and I have been hesitant to use it, because well: it’s the last one! I will probably use it when I have an emergency and I am in desperate need of glowy skin. Luckily for me, my next London trip is already planned (9th of January 2016) and I am definitely going to stock up on these masks!

Have you tried sheet masks before?

The London Haul + Vlog

As you all know I went on a trip to London a few weeks ago. I saw all the highlights of the city and of course shopped a lot. I rambled up all my adventures in a post that you can read HERE.
As a beauty addict I couldn’t leave the British drugstores unvisited, since there are many good products in there. I went a bit too crazy in Boots and Superdrug, I have to admit, but I got everything I wanted!
As for fashion, I also went a bit cray cray. I love the style of many British bloggers, so to actually go to Topshop, Primark and New Look was amazing!

Instead of doing a blog haul, I decided to make a video out of it. Making Youtube videos is something I always wanted to do, so here it is: My first ever haul!

A few things:
1. I had a bad hair day and putting it up in a ponytail clearly didn't solve the problem.
2. I say the words 'super duper' and 'love' a lot in this video. Mainly because I was super duper excited about London, but in the future I will try to not use them as much. :p
3. The quality is a bit off, but I am hopefully getting a new camera in the upcoming months! :)
