Carrot Cake Oatmeal

As you all know, I really like oatmeal. I have shared quite a few recipes on here and I have to say, this one is the best yet!
I love carrot cake and I love oatmeal, so what do you get if you mix the two: Carrot Cake Oatmeal! And yes it tastes as good as it sounds!

What do you need?
- One grated carrot
- 60 grams of oats
- 200 ml almond milk
- One tablespoon of agave nectar
- A handful of crushed pecans or walnuts
- A handful of raisins
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of pumpkin pie spice

Put the oats, grated carrot, almond milk, agave nectar, ground cinnamon and pumpkin spice in a small saucepan on a stove. Turn up to medium heat and keep stirring until it is getting a thicker consistency.
Add the raisins and the crushed nuts to the porridge and keep stirring until the porridge is perfect. Scoop the porridge in a bowl and top it off with some grated carrot, raisins, nuts and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
And there you have it your own bowl of carrot cake oatmeal! It’s a healthier option than regular carrot cake and it tastes amazing. Honestly this is just the BEST breakfast!

What is your favourite breakfast?

It's my Birthday!

Finally the day has come where I turn 21! I celebrated my birthday yesterday with all my family and friends and it was honestly THE BEST birthday! My friends came in the evening and we sat outside around a campfire and had the best time! I also got some amazing b-day gifts that will pop up on the blog very soon!
Today I slept in (I went to bed at 4 AM last night, so sleep was necessary) and just had a chill day and I baked a cake, which was a very yummy lemon drizzle cake.

Since it’s another year I decided to come up with some things that I want to do before I become 22. Honestly I cannot wait to become 22, mainly because I can put Taylor Swift’s song '22' on and go crazy; that's actually the only reason haha.

Here are a few things that I want to do:
- Going to London: I just came back I know, I know, but London is just an amazing city, so I have to get my butt on a plane very soon.
- Work. Work. Work: I really want to get a new job and an awesome internship. My internship from last year was 'the bomb dot com', so I will make sure that my next internship is also totally up my street!
- Enjoy things more: I think in this world everything is going so fast and we don't enjoy half of it. We tweet, share & like, go from place to place and everything is on full speed. Sometimes we have to step back and enjoy the moment, because things are going so fast. Before you know it, I will be writing another ‘It's my birthday’ post. Can you already hear the Taylor Swift tunes?
- Blogging and YouTube: last year I finally took the plunge and started to blog more frequently. I changed my blog design and fell in love with blogging and everything that comes with it. I also started my YT channel, which was very scary for me, but I really enjoy making videos, editing them and putting them online for everyone to see. I really want to continue with this, because it’s something that I enjoy very much.

Big thanks to everyone that has made my year so special and I know that this upcoming year will, hopefully, be even more amazing!

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

As a girl with combination/oily skin I need a good face powder to keep away the shine. I have used a lot of powders in my life and as someone who is very curious when it comes to new beauty products I decided to give this one a go. I bought this on my last trip to London in December, a trip where I picked up A LOT of make-up and fashion goodies. You can see the haul HERE.
I have never tried any products from Soap & Glory before. It’s a popular brand in the #bblogger community, but since we don’t have it in the Netherlands I have never used any of their products. I actually picked up two more Soap & Glory products:  the Supercat Liner, which I LOVE, and the Archery Brow Pencil that I still need to try, but I had high hopes for the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder.

Let’s say it didn’t disappoint at all. It keeps my face matte all day and looks amazing on the skin. Some powders can make my foundation look a bit cakey, but this one doesn’t do that. I also like the fact that it’s transparent, because I am very pale and most face powders make me look more tan than I really am. This results in a slight colour difference between my face and the rest of my body and to be honest that is never a good look.
I just take a big powder brush and press the product on to my skin. I don’t like the sweeping motion, since this can move the concealer I just applied on my spots and acne scars and we don’t want that, do we? It’s also fragrance-free which I like A LOT.

I am very happy with this product! It does the job at keeping my shine at bay and it makes my face make-up look natural and matte. I will definitely pick up more Soap & Glory products when I am back in the UK!

Have you tried any Soap & Glory products before? What are your favourites?
