Pixi Overnight Glow Serum

Confession time: I'm a bit of a skincare junkie. Even on my last trip to the Big Apple I purchased way too many skincare from Ordinary and went a bit shopping crazy in Ulta Beauty and Sephora. I still love make-up but it's much better to get good skin so you don't need to cover up the bad. And believe me I have a lot of bad. Acne, scarring, redness, large pores and all that jazz. That's maybe why I love skincare so much. To see what actually does something to my skin to make it all go away.

Today, I want to talk to you about one of the products that actually does something to my skin: the Pixi Overnight Glow Serum. You might know Pixi from their hyped up Glow Tonic, which I LOVE a lot too. I have been using it for years and this serum is even better than that. Like that can be possible?

The Pixi Overnight Glow Serum is exactly what it says in the name. The serum has a thick consistency that I leave on overnight and I wake up with the most amazing glow. Isn't that what we all want in a skincare product?
According to the Pixi website it exfoliates and soothes skin and it's a miracle serum that works while you sleep to reveal a brighter complexion. It's formulated with 10% glycolic acid & arginine that helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and fade sun spots over time and is enriched with cucumber & aloe vera extracts to calm skin and vitamins A, C & E to nourish.

I use it in the PM -otherwise it's not overnight, right?- and this is the last serum that I put on my face. The dropper is one of the only things I don't like as much since the serum can get everywhere if you are not careful. I put 1-2 drops on my hand and massage it into my skin. It can sting a bit, but for me that's a sign that it's working. I leave it on a bit before I add my moisturizer and pop into bed for some well rested beauty sleep -after binge watching season two of 13 Reasons Why, obviously-.

The next morning I wake up with the most glowy skin in the world. I have combination/oily skin too so there is lots of shine there, but when all that goes down the drain with my Face Cleanser from First Aid Beauty I am left with such an amazing glow. My skin seems more even, the scars are faded a bit and the redness is not as present as before.
I know this sounds too good to be true, but I honestly love this product a lot. With £26 for 30 ml it's on a higher price range but compared to other beauty brands I think it's still reasonable.

If you are looking to try out a product from Pixi or searching for a good glowy serum this babe is the one. I love it even more than the Glow Tonic, so even if the tonic didn't work for you this probably will. Your dull and tired skin will thank you for it!

4 Travel Tips to Save Your Skin When Flying

Travelling by air is not your skins best friend. I normally only fly for max. two hours to London or Barcelona, but when I flew to New York in January that suddenly changed to a 9 hour flight. Now 9 hours of dry air sucks all the moisture out of your skin, even for a combination/oily gal like me. So I came up with these 4 tips to give your skin a bit of a pick me up before, during and after your flight.

Use a hydrating face mask
Preferably before, during and after your flight. I love the Kiehl's Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, but the Origins Drink Up masks are also really good. Personally I only use these mask when flying, because as I said before, my skin is not on the dry side. I mostly use a hydrating mask before and after, because I simply not feel comfortable to sit barefaced next to people I don't know with a face mask on. If my skin was not suffering from acne, scarring and redness I would probably not care, so do whatever floats your boat.

Drink A LOT of water.
I know this is kind of a no brainer, but really drink a lot of water. Even when I fly with a more expensive airline and they provide me with food and drinks I always bring a 1 litre bottle of water with me. Just take an empty bottle through security and refill it after. Even though this means you are going to be that annoying person that needs to pee twice an hour. Your skin will thank you for it.

Bring hand cream on board
This is a thing that I forgot, but oh how I wished that I had some hand cream with me. We kind of think about our face, but let's not forget the hands and the rest of the body. I wash my hands quite a lot when I'm flying and although it gets rid of that sweaty feeling it also makes them even drier. Bring a hand cream that is nicely scented -you know to not disturb the neighbours with a weird herbal smell- and your hands will feel so soft and nice.

Artificial tears are your best friend
A bit off topic since technically eyes are not your skin, but if I had known this on my flight to NYC I would have been so much happier. I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22 but my eyes get super dry when I'm flying. Especially when you are not really sleeping and looking at a book or tv screen for 8 hours straight. In New York I popped into CVS and bought some eye drops and they made my return flight to Amsterdam so much more pleasant. Every time my eyes started to feel a bit dry I just popped in some artificial tears and it's honestly the best 10 dollars I have ever spent.

Hope this will help you on your next journey. Your skin and body and eyes will thank you for it!

My Glossier Showroom Experience in NYC

You must be living under a rock to not have heard of the brand Glossier. It's all over Instagram, YouTube and blogs and as curious as I am I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Luckily for me I went to New York -read about what I did there here- so of course I popped into their showroom in Soho.
Glossier is founded by Emily Weiss from the website Into The Gloss. Also remember Emily the super intern from The Hills? She was interning in New York and helped Lauren and Whitney in LA with a Teen Vogue event. She is the same Emily! I thought that was so funny!

Before going to the store I did some research online on what kind of products are worth it and which ones are not. Glossier is mainly focused on people with pretty good skin that is a bit dry. Hence the name Glossier aka glossy, glowy skin. Since my skin is more on the oily, acne-prone side most products are not targeted for me, but I still was like why not have a cheeky look and pop in for a lip balm? Because you can never have enough lip balms.

The Glossier Showroom is located on 23 Lafayette St. An elevator will take you up where you enter a room for beauty lovers. All products are displayed and you can try them out as much as you like. The concept is that you write down whatever you want on a Glossier sheet and then go up to the cashier or one of the Glossier ladies and order your goodies. A few minutes later someone calls for your name and there you have it: your own cute Glossier bag.

I had a look at the oh so popular Balm Dotcom ($12/15ml), a multipurpose lip balm, and tried them all out. In the end I went with the plain, unscented one, because I felt like I would use that the most. I also ordered Super Pure, one of the three Glossier serums. Super Glow and Super Bounce are more oriented on dry, dull skin and Super Pure has zinc and vitamin B3 and is supposed to calm redness and break-out prone skin. With $28 it's on the pricier side, especially since you only get 15 ml, but I wanted to give it a go to see if it would really cure my skin.

Overall I do like the Glossier shopping experience, it's a bit different than your usual Sephora run, but I liked it. The goodies that you buy are packed in this pink packaging and it gives you this luxury, cool gal feel. The store can be a bit small and is usually packed with other girls who love trying everything out. I went on the weekend too, so maybe try going there on a weekday to avoid crowds. Or order online if you live in the US, Canada or UK.
I still need to test out the Balm Dotcom and Super Pure serum, but when I do a review of these babies will go up ASAP. Just in time for my next trip to the Glossier showroom in May!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

Nip + Fab and I have been good friends for a while now. Whenever I'm in London I always pop into Boots or Superdrug -whoever has the best deals going on- to stock up on my favourites. The Dragon's Blood Fix cleansing pads were my go-to product, but I have to say that the ones from the Glycolic Fix range are my fave now. I also switched to the hyaluronic shot from Nip + Fab which has honestly saved my skin, such a fab product, but more on that in another blog post.

The Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (£12.95) are 60 pads soaked in glycolic acid 2.8% (retextures and resurfaces), hyaluronic acid (moisturises and refreshes) and blue daisy (soothes and calms). After using this you are left with brighter and smoother looking skin and although most of the promises that skincare products do are crap this actually does the job. My skin looks more even, less red (also with the help of the Dragon's Blood babe), my pores are smaller, I get less unwelcome pimples and I have that healthy glow without being pregnant or living that green juice diet.
I use them every night, after I have cleansed my skin and before I start my serum and moisturizer routine, and they are so easy to use. I swipe them over my face and that's it. The feeling you get can be a bit sticky and tingly, but since this product does wonders I embrace it with all my heart. The scent of them is nice too and I’m overall in LOVE with these cleansing pads. -You probably already knew that by this Nip + Fab love letter blog post.

I also have the Glycolic Extreme Night Pads with 5% glycolic acid and I love those a lot too -maybe even more?-. For the price that you pay these pads are such a smart buy and I honestly think they will change your skin. I have sensitive skin as well and these pads don't irritate at all. Superdrug always has a good 50% off deal going on so you don't have any excuses anymore to not pop them in your basket next time you are in there on your usual tampon, concealer, face mask and cheeky chocolate bar errant.

Pixi Beauty + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse

Pixi Beauty always has a special place in my heart. Their Glow Tonic is worth all the hype and I have been repurchasing this wonderful product for about five years. At the beginning of this year I popped into the Pixi Store at Carnaby Street, London to pick up yet another bottle of Glow Tonic when I saw this product. I had actually heard a bit about a product created by skincare goddess Caroline Hirons in collaboration with Pixi: The Double Cleanse. Since she does know a thing or two about good skincare and I can never say no to a cleansing balm I picked it up.

This all took place at the beginning of this year and you are probable wondering why it would take me so long to try it out. Well, I was finishing up my bottle of the Una Brennan Cleansing Oil and I am quite scared of trying new skincare products. Especially cleansing balms and oils, since I have had a few bad reactions to these kinds of products in the past. After one use I already knew that there was nothing to be afraid of, because well, this product is the dreamiest thing ever.

The Double Cleanse is a 2-in-1 cleaner with a solid cleanser on one end and a cleansing cream on the other. I am a huge fan of double cleansing and I think this product absolutely nails it. First, the cleansing oil removes oil, dirt, make-up and sunscreen. It's full of vitamin E, camellia oil and evening primrose oil to heal, protect and nourish the skin. The cleansing cream cleanses and conditions the skin to prep it for the rest of your skincare routine. They added Vitamin C to the luxe cleansing cream, which I think makes it even better. It's also fragrance and paraben free and not tested on animals.

I like to use a pea size of both cleansers and massage them on my face for about 30 seconds. I take the cleansing balm off with a cloth and some warm water and the same goes for the cleansing cream. After, my skin feels so radiant, soft and healthy. I also feel like my skin is smoother and less prone to acne.

Now there are some cons. Personally, I don't like the fact that it's in a jar. I love cleansers in a tube, because it's much easier and hygienic. Now I scoop out the cleaners with a cotton bud to keep my germs away from the product as best as I can. It's also on the pricier side (£24), but I can totally justify that now that I know how amazing my skin looks after using it.

If you are a cleansing balm hoarder then I would definitely recommend this product (also if you are not skincare obsessed you will love it). I think the two products work so well together to make the skin plump, glowy and healthy. One jar will probably last for about three to four months, which is reasonable as well. Hopefully Pixi will bring out a travel size, because it has to come on holiday with me. Think about how cute a tiny Double Cleanse would be!

Have you tried the Double Cleanse from Pixi Beauty already? What are your thoughts on this product?

My Skincare Routine

Since I was a teenager I have been obsessed with skincare products. Maybe because my skin was in such a horrible state that I was desperately trying out products to fix everything. Sadly making your skin free of acne, redness and scarring doesn't happen overnight. Although I kind of wish it did.

For the last couple of years I have been really sticking to the same routine. Using the same products religiously every day and never ever sleeping with my make-up on. I don't understand how women do that like it's no big deal. Doesn't your face feel like such a greaseball? And how does your pillow case look? Weird questions that pop into my mind from time to time.

Anyways, today I am sharing my current skincare regime. I have found it to really affect my skin in a positive way and I hope that this will continue until my skin is glowy, even and completely acne free!

*Also a note: I use a sheet mask like that once a week, I am not THAT crazy about skincare haha*

Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go

If I had to sum up my favourite skincare brands Pixi is at the top. Their Glow Tonic is the most amazing toner and I have been using it for many years. Every time I hop on a plane to London I always make sure to pay their Carnaby store a visit. It's so pretty and stocked with all these amazing products that I feel like a kid in a candy store.

On my last London visit I was determined to pick up another bottle of Glow Tonic until I saw this box of cleansing pads: Glow Tonic To-Go. The thing that got me excited about it was the 'to-go' part. I have a lot of trips planned and travelling with a cabin bag is a nightmare for a skincare and make-up obsessed girl like me. How do people even fit their entire beauty regime in a small clear bag? There are just some things that I will never understand.

Anyways, I brought these with me when I went to Copenhagen and they were such a lifesaver. Not only did they save space for other liquids, they were an ultimate skincare staple for me. There are 60 pads in there that are fully drenched in Glow Tonic. Perfect as the finishing touch to my cleansing routine. Especially when you are in a hostel and don't have your normal stuff with you. -I really tried, but the liquids rule ughh-.

If you have never heard about the Pixi Glow Tonic before and you have made it this far you probably want to know a bit more about it. It's an exfoliating tonic with 5% glycolic, aloe vera and ginseng. It helps to tone, firm and tighten the skin and makes it look all glowy and healthy. And who doesn't want that?

The weird thing is that it does all these things. I have been using it for about four years and it has never let me down. Next time I will buy a bottle of this magic liquid because that lasts longer than the to-go pads and ya know I'm all about saving money. Kind of.

First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanser with Red Clay

In my recent Feel Unique haul you spotted this beauty from First Aid Beauty, their Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. I have tried it out for a couple of weeks now and I have nothing but love for this new addition to my skincare routine.

The packaging is almost the same as their normal cleanser, only this has red details. It's handy to use and hygienic too. I never like to put my fingers in a moisturizer or cleanser, it just doesn’t seem right to me.
Now the different thing is the product inside. I squished some product out and the relaxing spa scent immediately went up my nostrils. When you go to the spa or the sauna you also have this relaxing scent and this cleanser smells exactly like that! Best way to start and end the day.
It's a red gel type consistency and after I've applied it to my face I add a bit of water to make it easier to massage it into the skin. Then I wash it off with lukewarm water.
Personally I don't use it to take my make-up off. It can do the job, but I'd rather use a product that specializes in getting all the foundation and contour of my face, like the F.A.B Face Cleanser or the Una Brennan Cleansing Oil. This deep cleanser comes as a second step to be 100% sure that all the dirt and grime is off my face. I also use it in the morning to cleanse my face.
Now the reason why I love it so much is that my skin feels really clean. I've definitely noticed a major change in my skin. I get less pimples and an overall glow has appeared on my face. Note: I used this over Christmas too and I stuffed my face with festive chocolate and mince pies and no sign of pimples whatsoever. It's a Christmas miracle!

I will definitely repurchase this one. I see such a clear difference in the way my skin looks and acts. I've always had problem skin and if this product helps to make it a bit better I will use it forever and ever.

A Feel Unique Haul

The website Feel Unique is my go-to place to fulfil all my beauty craving needs. Especially skincare since they sell the brand First Aid Beauty and you all know I love that! In my recent order I picked up three things: two F.A.B. cleansers and an eyeliner from L’Oréal Paris.

For me the Face Cleanser from F.A.B. is the best cleanser I ever tried. It takes off my make-up so well and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. It just does the job without irritating my skin and the Jumbo Face Cleanser -same stuff just a bigger size- lasts me for about six months. No surprise that this was in my shopping basket again!

Every time I have a look at First Aid Beauty I spot the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. Something about the fact that it's especially for oily and acne-prone skin makes me want to purchase it. And this time I did! I already tried it out and it's so lovely. Review coming soon!

Since my eyeliner ran out I was in desperate need of a new one. There was an offer going which made this L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Eyeliner about €7.00. So cheap compared to how much it costs in the Netherlands! I already tried the Black Lacquer version which I really liked, so I'm excited to give this one a go.

Do you shop on Feel Unique? What do you always get from there?

Origins Out of Trouble Mask

Origins Out of Trouble Mask
Last year I finally got around to try a mask from Origins. Spotty skin has always been a struggle for me and since many people said that the Origins Clear Improvement mask is THE BEST, I had to give it a go. Of course I fell head over heels in love with that face mask and I had to try more. My eyes quickly fell on the Origins Out of Trouble mask, since it's also meant to do wonders to problem skin, and I was a very happy lady when I received it as one of my birthday presents.

Now, I have to start off with the fact that I don't love this mask as much as the Origins Clear Improvement mask. That mask just gives the loveliest glow to my skin. I don't know how that mask does it's thang but it's definitely working for me.
The Out of Trouble mask also gives a glow, but it's not as noticeable. I do find that it helps to calm down my skin and red spots a bit more than the other mask. I apply the white mask two times a week. I love the minty/eucalyptus scent a lot as it really gives you that luxury spa feeling. It’s a 10 minute mask, but I probably leave it on for way longer. When a face mask is that expensive I'd like to really let is sit on my skin properly. When I feel it has done its job I rinse it off with a cloth and some warm water and I start on my skincare routine. After this whole ritual I am left with clean, soft and even skin that looks and feels lovely!

The Origins masks keep on surprising me with what they can do. They might be a bit expensive but for me this is totally justified. I personally have never found a mask in the drugstore that I love as much as these ones. And as we speak I might pop a new Origins face mask in my shopping basket. I just can't get enough!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion

When I love a product it usually stays with me for the rest of my life. The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, Revlon Colorstay Foundation and Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara are just a few examples and this Kiehl's product definitely belongs in the same category.

A few years ago -around the time that I started this blog- I was on the hunt for a new face cream. My fave from Garnier got discontinued and the replacements that I bought weren't as good. I heard that Kiehl's was like the it-brand when it comes to flawless skin, so I went to their store and a lovely salesperson recommended me the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion. A ground-breaking day that changed my skin forever.

Now this sounds quite dramatic, but for a person who has had problems with allergies and acne, it's great to finally find a product that moisturises your skin, doesn't give you allergic reactions and acne and looks great underneath make-up. The price can put many people off (€26,00/125ml) but no drugstore moisturizer can compete with this one. Believe me, I've tried.

It's a gel-like consistency, very creamy and you don't need a lot. It immediately soaks into the skin, leaving it soft and moisturized. In the beginning I also found that it helped with the oil-control on my skin, but after trying it for 4 years I can tell that isn't the case anymore. This moisturizer is also free of parabens, perfume and oil which makes it even more perfect.
It does have quite a strong scent though. I am not good at describing scents, but for me it smells quite minty and fresh. You only really smell it when you apply it and after that the scent fades quite quickly. I once tried the Philosophy Hope in a Jar and the scent of that cream stayed with me the entire day. The scent was horrible too, so that wasn't really a big success haha.

If you have oily/combination skin and are looking for a new moisturizer I would recommend giving this Kiehl's one a try. I really wish I knew about this product way sooner, but young me would probably think it's way too expensive haha!

Have you ever tried something from Kiehl's? What is your favourite?

First Aid Beauty Jumbo Face Cleanser

Skincare is a big part of my life. I feel that when you apply make-up to your face you also need to make sure you take it off and take care of your skin. I don't think I have ever slept with make-up on my face. Even when I am laying in my bed and postponing the fact that I need to get up from this comfy horizontal position I still do it. Even the thought of me sleeping with foundation on makes me cringe. I just don't like it.

One of my faves to take off makeup is the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. I've been using this beaut for almost two years now and I keep repurchasing it. It's just that good! A couple of weeks ago I actually ran out so I immediately went online to order it. As I was browsing Feel Unique I saw that they now have a Jumbo version of my beloved face cleanser. You pay a bit more but you also get way more (€18.48/141.7g or €27.06/226.8g), so I decided to order the jumbo one.

When it arrived I was a bit in shock, because it’s seriously huge compared to the normal one. I have shampoo that comes in the same sort packaging and it's literally the same size and everything. The product inside is luckily still the same and I completely fell in love with it again. I have been using some Kiehl's samples for the past couple of days and they just aren't the same. The F.A.B. cleanser does wonders at taking make-up off and leaving my skin feeling soft and clean. It might be a bit expensive at first but a little goes a long way so I see myself using this for the next 12 months haha!

Have your tried the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser before?

Una Brennan Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil

In the past I haven't had the best of luck with cleansing oils. The MAC Cleansing Oil was fine, but a bit pricey and The Body Shop Cleansing Balm and Cleansing Oil just gave me major breakouts. Now rumour has it, this cleansing oil from Una Brennan is like ‘‘the one’’ when it comes to drugstore cleansing oils, so I was very lucky to finally get my hands on one when I went to London in January.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan is overall a very good skincare range. I've heard quite good things about many of their products so I had high hopes that I would fall in love with the Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil (£10,99) too.
Now the first thing I was worried about when using this were the breakouts. After using it for a couple of days there were still no spots in sight and even now I still don’t get a lot of breakouts. The ones I do get are more likely caused by all the chocolate I eat than this cleansing oil haha. The scent is very strong and orangey and strangely enough I like it a lot. It reminds me of summer holidays to England when I was little.

The cleansing part is amazing too. That's why I really like cleansing balms and oils in general; they just get the job done very quickly! I take a bit of oil into the palm of my hands, massage it into my skin and rinse it off with a cleansing cloth and warm water. I wouldn't recommend this on your eyes though. At least for someone like me who always uses waterproof mascara, this doesn't work as well. And besides that, I don't really like smearing my entire face with old mascara. Raccoon eyes are more my thing!
After the cleansing oil I use a tiny bit of my F.A.B. cleanser to make sure every single bit of make-up is removed and then I apply some Pixi Glow Tonic on a cotton pad and swipe it over my face. After that whole routine I am left with super clean skin that feels and looks amazing. It's also supposed to be very brightening and give the skin an amazing glow. I am using a lot of other brightening products, so I can't tell if it's because of this oil, but my skin definitely looks more radiant.

This is the first cleansing oil that really works on my skin and of course I have to travel all the way to England to get it. Oh well, at least I have a good excuse to book my next London trip!

Una Brennan Super Facialist Glow Boost Skin Serum

As you all know: I have a sweet spot for hyped up products. Today’s skincare post is no exception. Because after hearing so many good things about the Una Brennan Super Facialist Vitamine C range, I really wanted to try a few products myself.
The only problem was that it was sold out everywhere. I actually had my eyes on the cleansing oil since Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup raves about it all the time, but after visiting five Boots stores I decided that the serum would do as well. That was also kind of on my wish list, so I quickly payed and tried not to think about all the money I spent that day. Queue my London haul in three... two.... one...

The Glow Boost Skin Serum is supposed to give you a healthy glow and smoother, retexturized skin. The combination of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and algae extract will boost the collagen in the skin and make it more radiant, smoother and youthful looking. Basically everything you want in a skincare product right? Now let's put it to the test!

The scent is very orangey and I kind of like it. Normally I am not about heavy scented products, but this reminds me of something I used to have when I was younger. The formula itself is really thin and you only need a small amount for the entire face. It applies really nicely and I think the product by itself is amazing. I just don't think my skin likes it very much.
I am supposed to get glowy, healthy skin and it's kind of the opposite. I am afraid that I get an allergic reaction if I use it longer than a couple of days, so I haven't used it for long periods of time. Every time I use it the texture of my skin becomes really weird and it feels like an allergic reaction will pop up in no time. I also feel like I get more break-outs than usual which I think is because of this product.

I really wanted to love this product and the range in general as well. I love glowy skin and I really hoped this was going to be the product for me. I guess the hunt isn't over yet, but I am sure I will find something that I love very soon!

Nip + Fab Skin Dragon's Blood Fix Cleansing Pads

On my last trip to London I picked up many things in the Boots skincare aisle including this lovely product from Nip + Fab. I first found out about this brand via Instagram, because Kylie Jenner is a spokesperson for them (I think?). I remember an Insta pic of her where she was promoting the brand, I then googled it and had to put it on my wish list. After a browse in Boots and seeing all the products in person, I decided to go for the Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Cleansing Pads.

The cleansing pads are meant to:
- cleanse the pores
- provide long-lasting hydration to help the skin appear plumper
- reduce the appearance of imperfections
- help your skin to look smoother and refreshed

They also contain:
Dragon's blood (from the Croton Lechleri tree): forms protective film on skin to protect against environmental aggressors
Salicylic acid: cleanses pores + aids exfoliation
Hyaluronic acid: hydrates + refines skin texture
Witch Hazel: reduces redness + tightens pores

I don't know why it has taken me such a long time to try them, but they are amazing! I'm usually very fussy about skincare and there are a lot of things that I picked up in Boots that I didn't like as much. My skin just didn't respond to it very well, but this on the other hand has made my skin very happy!
I use a cleansing pad every single night before I apply my moisturizer and after using it for a while you can really see a difference. My skin just looks smoother and glowier and my spots also seem to have sort of disappeared, which I think is because of the salicylic acid. My skin responds very well to that and when I saw it listed as one of the ingredients I knew I had to try it.

There are only 60 cleansing pads in there and I think I’m halfway now. I hope I will make it till my next trip to London which will be in January. When the plane lands I will be running to Boots to buy these cleansing pads. They are such a huge staple in my skincare routine now and I can’t live without them anymore!

Molton Brown Vintage 2015 Body Lotion

A few months ago the company where I do my internship was invited to a Molton Brown Christmas event and I was the lucky one to go to it. Was it a bit weird to go to a Christmas themed event mid-August? Yes, but it was also very exciting, because the festive season is my favourite time of the year. I didn't mind the decorated tree and the gorgeous room where the event was held at all.

I was lucky enough to keep one of the products and that's what I am talking about today: the limited edition Molton Brown Vintage 2015 Body Lotion with Elderflower (€32,00). Let’s start off with the scent that is absolutely divine. It is like nothing I ever smelled before and I really like it. This also means I can't really compare it with anything, so you really have to pop into a Molton Brown store and smell it, but believe me it's totally worth it! I also have the fragrance notes here:

Top note: grapefruit
Heart note: petitgrain
Base note: vetiver
Extract: English elderflower

The body lotion comes in this handy bottle with a pump which makes it really easy to moisturize your body. Especially for people who forget to moisturize or who are just too lazy for it (aka me). The body lotion itself is really nice and melts into the skin. It moisturizes the skin very well and leaves it ultra-soft and super smooth.

I can't be happier with this body lotion! It really moisturizes the skin and the scent is just absolutely amazing. I know it's a bit expensive in comparison with your regular body lotion, but I think it makes it the ultimate Christmas gift. If you haven't popped this beauty on your wish list then you definitely should!

Origins Clear Improvement Mask

As my skin has gone through a bit of a rough stage, I needed something that would give it a boost full of energy, radiance and brightness. I had my eye on this mask from Origins for a while now, but the price (€25,00) was the main reason why I was always hesitant to purchase it.

Then I got a lovely note from Douglas.nl saying that I got a €5 gift card, because I reached a certain level of points. And as you know me: I had to spend it.
I had a quick browse on their website and I was thinking about getting some Zoeva brushes, but then I remembered that I really wanted to try an Origins mask and there was no way to change my mind.
Origins has a lot of nice masks, but my eye immediately fell on the Origins Clear Improvement Mask. Mainly because I heard the most wonderful things about it. Also the words charcoal and removing impurities sound like magic to my ears, so I popped it in my basket, went to check-out and waited patiently for it to arrive the next day.

As soon as the delivery man left, I opened the package and I was so excited to finally have a real Origins mask in my hands. I removed my make-up, applied it on my face, took a bath with my Lush Brightside Bubble Bar and let the mask do it's magic
After removing the grey mask I found it quite drying and not at all what I expected. I didn't get an allergic reaction, which was a bonus, but it just didn't do the job for me. As I did spent €25,00 on a mask, I wasn't going to just throw it in the bin, so I reapplied it a couple of days later. That was the moment that made me fall in love head over heels with this mask.

Cause it turns out I was wrong after all. I usually always hate a product before I love it and this mask from Origins is no exception. I removed the mask from my face and looked at glowy and smooth skin. I was basically in shock about how good my skin looked and I have been applying it two times a week for about a month now.
The mask itself is creamy and applies very smoothly. You don't need much at all, which I like a lot. After I apply it, I let it sit on the skin till it's dry. Sometimes that's a bit longer than usual (aka watching a movie and not wanting to leave the TV to take off my grey face). I remove the mask with lukewarm water and a cloth, then I dry it with a towel and I take a look in the mirror to see the gorgeous glow that has just appeared on my forehead. Lately there were some small bumps on my forehead, but those have completely disappeared and my skin has never been so soft and smooth. It leaves my skin so glowy and radiant and the pimple attacks have been less regular too. It’s mend to clear out pores, so that must be the reason why!

I'm normally not a mask type of girl, since I find they only give me more pimples - weird I know - but this has really changed my view on them. As I said, I wear this mask two times a week and I can't see myself without it anymore. I kind of regret the fact that I didn't purchase it sooner. I know that it can be a lot of money for a skincare product, but it's totally worth it for me. I will definitely be buying this again and I can't wait to try more Origins goodies!

Have you tried this mask or any other Origins product before?

Masque Bar Brightening Sheet Mask

I have always been very intrigued with sheet masks. I started watching YouTube videos back in 2012 and Miss Glamorazzi (aka Ingrid) was totally obsessed with Asian sheet masks, which made me obsessed with them as well. A simple example of a beauty purchase inspired by a blogger or vlogger and to be honest: this happens way too often.
I actually never bought the sheet masks though. I had to buy them from Ebay and it was just a struggle, so I let it go. But when I was in Boots two months ago I spotted these babies in the skincare aisle and I popped them in my basket without thinking.

These 'babies' are sheet masks form Masque BAR. I went for the brightening ones, because I love an illuminating glow, but I already saw they have lots of different versions. They come in a packet of three and were on offer for six pounds (normally 10 pounds).
These masks help to minimize the appearance of dark spots and hyper pigmentation, leaving the skin looking more even and radiant. Since I have quite some hyper pigmentation on my face I couldn't wait to try it out.

I have to say I LOVE them a lot and I am quite sad that we don't sell them here. I apply the sheet on my face which, at first, can be a bit of a struggle. I then looked like a crazy person with a white mask on her face and I basically lay in a horizontal position for twenty minutes, being afraid that it would fall off my face.
When the twenty minutes had passed, I pulled the mask off and washed my face a few moments later. I could already notice a lovely glow on my porcelain skin that was so magical and amazing. I also saw a difference in the appearance of my acne scars and the overall redness that I deal with on a day-to-day basis. My skin tone looks more even and the pigmentation has faded a little bit.
My skin is also very sensitive and I was afraid to get an allergic reaction, but the next day I woke up with a lovely glow and there was no sign of red, irritated skin, which makes me fall in love with this product even more

I still have one sheet mask left and I have been hesitant to use it, because well: it’s the last one! I will probably use it when I have an emergency and I am in desperate need of glowy skin. Luckily for me, my next London trip is already planned (9th of January 2016) and I am definitely going to stock up on these masks!
