Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine

A while back I got the Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine spray in a huge beauty haul -you can watch everything I got here- and I finally gotten around to write a beauty post about this magical oil.

When I first got it I was super excited. I always wanted to try something from Moroccanoil so I was happy to finally get my hands on it. I used it a few times but then began to notice some pimples were popping up around my hairline. I blamed the hair oil and stopped using it. Until a few weeks ago.

I started using it again because I do like what it did to my hair and it smells AMAZING. It's not the original Moroccanoil but a glimmer shine oil spray that gives the hair a beautiful glow. I use it twice a week, because that's when I wash my hair. I use it as a leave-in treatment and sometimes I also take a few spritzes and apply those to the ends of my hair and the frizzy bits at the top. It makes my hair so soft and shiny and I still can't get over the scent: it's the best!
After using it for a while I can say that my hair definitely looks healthier and happier. Maybe it's me but my hair seems to grow faster as well. It has never been this long and I absolutely love it. The pimples have not appeared either which means that maybe this wasn’t the product that caused them.

If you are looking for new hair oil I really recommend having a look at the Moroccanoil range. Everyone always seems to go crazy over their products and I have to agree that the Glimmer Shine spray is very lovely. Because in the end who doesn't like shiny and good smelling hair locks?

What are your thoughts on Moroccanoil products?

The love for Invisibobble

One of my ultimate essentials in life are hair ties. Whenever I get frustrated with my hair being everywhere I take the trusty hair tie of my wrist and say bye bye to that annoying hair. I mean having long hair is amazing and all, but sometimes I think it's the most unhandy thing in the world.

I used to always get mine from Primark. You pay €1.50 for a lot of hair ties, which literally gets me through an entire year. They break or I lose them and for €1.50 I don't care what happens with them in the end. I know that those kind of basic hair ties aren't the best for your hair, but I had no idea what else to do. And then I discovered Invisibobble.

I got my first Invisibobble hair tie when I was working as an intern at a magazine. We had lots of them and we all got one to try them out. I really liked having my hair up that way. I had no kinks in my hair, which I would usually get with my normal hair tie and it didn't break. Although I love this new hair tie a lot it didn't prevent me from losing it #girlproblems. They can be a bit expensive though as you get three hair ties in each box, but they last so much longer than the Primark hair ties and are way better for your hair that I happily pay a bit more.

Luckily, I was kindly invited to an Invisibobble event. I still worked as an intern and since beauty events are my favourite thing to go to I was like why not? I couldn't wait to hear about these magical hair ties and learn more about the other collections they were bringing out, because they have more than just the classic Invisibobble.

Original
Your basic, go-to hair tie. It has a strong grip, avoids headaches and kinks in your hair and looks stylish around your wrist. (€4.95)

Nano
The updo tool. Perfect for buns, crazy braids and more! I personally like using it to create a hipster bun. It stays in place perfectly no matter what I do. (€3.95)

Power
The hair tie that's perfect for when you work out. It has an extra strong grip and all the other benefits of the Original Invisibobble. (€5.95)

I like all three kinds for their own purpose. The one I use the most is probably the Original. I have it in all sorts of colours, but my go-to is the brown, black or clear version. Mainly because these colours blend in with my hair, but when I'm in a fun and quirky mood I get out my pinks and blues. Nothing a bit of colour can't solve, am I right?

Have you tried an Invisibobble before? Do you like them?

Bumble and Bumble Surf

While I was in London I finally picked up some things from the brand Bumble and Bumble - two kits to be precise-. And as I was going on my summer holiday to Bodrum and really wanted to get beachy strands of hair, I thought this kit would be perfect to put in my suitcase. The shampoo and conditioner come in a small version too which makes it even more travel friendly. Yeeh!

Now I have heard great things about the Bumble and Bumble Surf line. I know the Surf Spray is like the best thing ever and I have seen many bloggers and vloggers rave about this line for years and years. Time to finally test it myself.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo -travel size- 60ml £6.50
Bumble and Bumble Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner -travel size- 60 ml £7.50
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray -full size- 125ml £22.00

As a girl who loves the feeling of freshly washed hair -I used to wash it religiously every single day- I now only was my hair 2-3 times a week. Nothing a bit of dry shampoo can't conquer, am I right? That is also how I used this shampoo and conditioner set. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and I am almost halfway through the bottle. Because my hair is quite long one shampoo rinse doesn't do the job with my long locks, that’s probably why it’s already half full.
Now I have to be a bit honest here and say that I am not as blown away as everyone else. Yes, it does the job of cleaning and moisturizing my hair really well and it does add a bit of texture and volume, but is it worth that much money? I doubt that. I have tried many hair care products in my life to know that there are better and similar products out there that are way cheaper. One thing I do really like is the scent. It brings you right back to those summer days on the beach.

I also tried the Surf spray which again has the same scent. I have tried the Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray before and I find it's quite similar. After applying a couple of spritzes and blow-drying my hair with the dryer in our bathroom -it took like 15-20 minutes to dry my hair, the struggle was real haha- I did see a bit more volume and puffiness in my hair. I also experienced that my hair got greasier way faster than usual, which made me wash my hair a bit more often than I normally do. I don’t know if that's because of my SPF –I put that stuff everywhere- or the Surf spray.

Overall, I think it's a nice range of products. Would I repurchase them? Probably not. Okay, maybe for the scent I will haha. I think that there are so many other products in the drugstore that work just as good and are way better for your bank account. But maybe that's just my poor student point of view haha.

Have you tried anything from the Bumble and Bumble Surf range?

The Texturized Hair Issue

If there is something that I have learned this year it's that I LOVE texture in my hair. I have quite long locks that are hanging in front of my face and with a bit of volume and texture it just looks a bit better.
Now the SebastianEruptek has been a late 2015 favourite of mine - since I own it for about 1,5 months - but I love it a lot. Basically it's a very thick, black paste that you rub between the palms of your hands and apply to your hair. After blow-drying your hair you are left with texturized, matte hair that looks amazing.

You can also use it on dry hair, but I’m personally a fan of using it when my hair is damp. You get more volume this way and who doesn’t want that? Now I also find that it makes my hair so long. I don’t have a straightener anyway, but with this product I don't really need one.
This paste just gives the best texture and I haven't seen a product like this before. I have used some texturizing sprays from L'Oréal and Charles Worthington, but I always feel that doesn't last as long. This however does and I know it's a bit on the pricey side (€34,50), but I think it's totally worth it. I will definitely repurchase this product in the New Year!

The Anti-Frizz Remedy

I have always had a love/hate relationship with my hair. I think everyone with long hair can relate to the fact that sometimes you love your long locks and the next day you want to get a short hair-do. This happens to me all the time, but I am too scared to actually cut it.
Frizz has also been a problem for me. I have these tiny hairs that sit on top of my head and just won’t lie down. Luckily I have an all new hair care routine that really helped my locks to become shiny and frizz-free.

Last year I went to an event where they introduced a new hair care range of GUHL. It’s not a brand that is well known worldwide, but I still wanted to mention the range on here, since it helped me so much.
The GUHL range is made to give you frizz-free hair and bouncy locks and it sure did! There are four products in the range: a shampoo, a conditioner, an intensive repair mask and a daily intensive treatment. I used all four products together to get the best results. The scent of these products is amazing and my hair feels clean, fresh and frizz-free afterwards.
My favourite product, out of the whole range, is the intensive repair mask. I’ve never really used hair masks regularly, but now that it’s right next to me in the shower, I use it every single time that I wash my hair and it makes my hair feel so soft and nourished.

This hair washing routine of mine has also changed a lot. There was a period in my life where I would wash it every single day and I know this is very damaging for my hair, but it would get so greasy and gross otherwise. Now I wash my hair two times a week. When I don’t need to leave the house, I just leave my hair in a bun on my head and let it be. Then there is my good friend dry shampoo. I just spritz it in my hair on ‘greasy hair days’ and I am good to go. I feel that all of this has helped in the anti-frizz process.

The Dove Hair Rescue

Now that it is getting colder outside my hair is in desperate need of a little pamper session. The freezing weather is not doing anything good for my long locks. Since my hair is very long at the moment, I need to take care of it anyway. Let’s begin with making my hair super soft, silky and smooth.
I am trying out these products from Dove for a while now. I am using the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil and the Dove Oxygen Hydration Soufflé Mask. Will this be the perfect combo to tame my hair?

‘‘Dove Pure Care Dry Oil is perfect for all hair types. It is a lightweight, non-greasy formula with African macadamia oil. It instantly helps replenish lipids, it softens and adds shine. You can use it before you wash your hair as a nourishing treatment or before styling to protect your hair and control frizz.’’
I normally have a love/hate relationship with hair oils, but this one definitely fits in the love category. It has the perfect, oily consistency and my hair soaks it up like it is in desperate need of a hair treatment. The scent is also quit nice and leaves my hair smelling very delicious. My long locks are super soft, silky and there is no frizz to be seen. This is definitely a new, discovered favourite!

‘‘Dove Oxygen Hydration Soufflé Mask is a lightweight, luxurious mask and adds a lot of moisture to the hair. You can use it weekly to add light-weight nourishment and moisture to get a beautifully, volumized finish.’’
The mask is a whipped, airy cream that melts into my locks. I just put a lot of product in my dry hair, twirl the hair into a bun and let it soak in for a pretty long time. After I have washed my hair it feels so soft and smooth. Just unbelievable how it makes my hair feel. Even though, it says you get a volumized finish, it weighs my hair down a bit. Not that I have a lot of volume normally, but it just does nothing to give me a nice, volumized hair-do. Nonetheless it makes my hair super soft and keeps the frizz away.

This is the perfect remedy to save my locks from the winter that is upon us!

Have you tried these products already?

Review | L'Oréal Paris Studio Line TXT Sprays

As you know I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. At the moment I am totally in love with it, but there are times I really want to cut it off. The reason for all the love is the purchase of these two sprays. I have tried them out for a while know and I have to say they are two affordable hair beauties.
Texturized hair is an IT thing in the beauty department right now. I love it as well. I always look at blogger photos and think: How do they get there hair like that? I may have taken a step in the right direction with these two.

The two sprays in question are the:
L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT06 Wave Creating Spray
L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT07 Volume Texturizing Spray

You can use them both separately but work best together. Let take a closer look at them shall we?

L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT06 Wave Creating Spray
According to L'Oréal Paris it is supposed to immediately make waves in straight hair. It is non-heavy and non-crunchy. You shake it up, spray it on damp hair, twist strands of hair around you finger and blow-dry them.
I have used this method that is on the Dutch packaging and it doesn’t really work. I do get wavy hair but not as much as I would like. I spray it in my hair and it does give texture, but I feel like there is so much more potential for my hair with this product. I just haven't found the right way to work with it yet.

L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT07 Volume Texturizing Spray
According to L'Oréal Paris this immediately gives texture and amazing volume to your hair. It is non-heavy, non-stiff, non-crunchy and brushable. You separate your hair into four parts. Spray every part generously and scrunch you hair. Do this till you get the desired effect.
I really like the volume it gives my hair. It gives it that matt and messy hair look. The only cons are that it doesn’t last all day. I have to scrunch my hair a lot threw the day to have the same effect as I did when I left the house. Also I find that it makes my roots slightly greasy through the day. But for the rest I think it is an awesome product and it gives my hair the volume and texture it needs!

I really think textured and volumized hair suits me, so I am happy there is finally a drugstore edition. Even though I am still lurking for the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, but for now this works just as well.

Have you tried any hair texturizing products lately?

Review | It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin

I am always on the hunt for good haircare products. I have really long straight hair, so that needs a lot of care to keep it in a good condition.
I wanted to get this for a while. I was contemplating if my friend in America should bring it back with her. Then in London I went to TK Maxx and they had it there. I was contemplating, but decided to get it.

The It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Spray was £14,99/ 120 ml

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Keratin Amino Acids, Cyclopentasiloxane, Fragrance, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Butylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Panthenol, Quaternium 80, Silk Amino Acids, Hydroxycitronellal, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxyisohexyl 3 Cylcohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropianal, Linalool, Citronellol, Limonene, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methychloroisothiazolinone

It is called It's a 10 because it says it does 10 things for you hair.

1. Maintenance of keratin straightening treatments.

2. Increases styling & manageability
3. Perfect for all hair types
4. Replaces lost protein
5. Protects the natural keratin in hair
6. Protects against heat
7. Restores hydration balance
8. Detangles, defrizzes & adds shine
9. Strengthens hair structure
10. Seals cuticles for extra silky hair

I do not know if it really does all that, but what I can tell you is how my hair looks after using it.

The bottle has a spray pump which I don't find very handy. Also I do not really see it as a spray but more as a cream, because of the thick creamy consistency.

I spray a couple of pumps in my hand and massage that in my hair. The next morning my hair feels really soft and looks healthy and shiny. The only con about this product is the scent. I just do not really like it, but I am getting used to it.

I think that when you use this product every day for a long period of time it will actually make your hair healthier from the inside. I do think it is an amazing product. My hair feels really soft and it looks healthy. I do find it is a little bit overpriced for what you get. It is also not available everywhere. There are products out there that also make your hair soft, shiny and healthy and are way cheaper.

So for me it is not worth the hype. I will just finish up my bottle and look for something new. I already set my eyes on the Bumble & Bumble Texture Creme. Do any of you know if this is good?

What is your favourite haircare product?

Glossybox November 2012

Last week I got my new Glossybox. They have there one year anniversary this month so that means that this was a special box with special and exclusive products.

The products that are in there:

Sabon - Patchouli Lavender Vanilla Hand Cream

Full size € 11,95

Hannah - 24 H Skin Balancing Cream

10 ml €9,00
45 ml €37,50

Zoeva - Pure Glam Pigment in Terra di Siena

Full Size €1,95

Fashion Make-up - Eyeliner in Black

Full Size €5,00

Paul Mitchell - Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil

100 ml €32,95

I am really happy with the products in this box. I always wanted to try out the Hannah skincare. I almost bought it at one point, but I have no idea why I didn't buy in the end.

I already have a hand cream from Sabon (Violet) and it smells amazing and moisturizes very well.
The eyeliner comes at the right time because mine is almost finished.
I also really like the hair oil from Paul Mitchell. I am always looking for new hair treatments and oils and this one smells really nice.
The color of the Zoeva Pure Glam Pigment is not something I would wear. At least not every day but with Christmas coming up I might use it.
I am curious about the Anatomicals Mud Mask. Just because I do not want an allergic or irritated reaction on my skin. So I will put it on a small part of my face and see how that works out.

I am also looking forward to the December box, the Holiday edition!! Which means a lot of exclusive and high end products/samples (at least I hope).

My favorites from September 2012

I can't believe that it is already the end of September. Everything just went so fast! Before you know it is New Year's and the beginning of a new year!

But a whole month means trying out a lot of products, these are the products that I fell in love with!

Lush Fair Trade Honey Shampoo

Read my review on this product here.

Mac Mineralize Skin Hydrating Mist

My MAC Fix + Spray was almost finished so I wanted a new one. I went to the MAC store and it turned out that it was sold out so a MAC employee recommended this to me. I have to say that the scent from the Fix + Spray is better, but I think I get a dewier look from this.

Chanel le Vernis Nail Colour 551 Coco Blue

I wanted this nail polish for a while now, but I thought it was a little bit to expensive so I went looking for cheaper brands with the same color. I have looked everywhere and I couldn't find it so I just bought it and I LOVE it! The color is so pretty and now that I have it I do not regret buying it!

Catrice Highlighting Powder

Highlighters are a musthave right now in the beauty world so I also bought one. I also heard really good things about the Dior Highlighters but first this one from Catrice. I really like this one it gives your skin a really nice glow so when you are looking for a cheaper highlighter this one is really good!

Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic

http://www.lushusa.com/Catastrophe-Cosmetic/06093,en_US,pd.html?start=7&cgid=fresh-face-masks

I was at the Lush store (which is always tempting) and I really wanted to try this one. The smell is really nice and it is made with fresh blueberries. After using this my skin felt so soft and looked really nice. I am deffinetly repurchasing this!

Hema Bronzing Powder

Hema is a store in The Netherlands (I think they also have one in Germany, Belgium and France) that sells all sorts of things and also make-up! I saw this one and immediately loved it. I never really used a bronzer before, (I have a really fair skin tone, so i thought it would not look nice on me) but it looks really nice and warms up my complexion so bronzer is definitely a must have for me right now!

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1

http://www.kiehls.com/Lip-Balm-1/307,default,pd.html?start=6&cgid=face-eye

I am a huge Kiehl's fan so I was really excited when I got this in my Glossybox! It is really nice and moisturizes my lips very well.

Non Beauty Products

H&M Sweater €9,95

Great for fall and winter coming up, love the mustard color.

Primark Studded Loafers €13

I really like loafers (this is my 3rd pair) and I saw these and I loved them instantly. They are very comfy and look amazing!

Zara Necklace €22,95

I saw these at Zara and knew that I had to had this. I really like statement necklaces and at that time we did not really had them, so when I saw these I was like yeeeh finally a statement necklace! They are very colorful and love to wear it with my mustard sweater!

Lush Fair Trade Honey Shampoo Review

I am a huge Lush addict, so when there new hair products came out I had tot try them!
Today I am reviewing there Fair Trade Honey Shampoo. I immediately loved it because of the honey. I love honey! It tastes amazing and it has good benefits for your skin and body!

https://www.lush.co.uk/product/6042/Fair-Trade-Honey-110g
http://www.lush.nl/shop/product/product/path/147_149/id/1475/haar-vloeibare-shampoo--fair-trade-honey-shampoo

Prices:

110 G - £7/€ 12,95
300 G - £14/€ 25,95

600 G - £23,50/€ 45,95

Lush facts:

There is more than 50 % fair trade honey in this shampoo. The honey moisturizes your hair and makes it shine. They also put flax seed gel in it which also moisturizes your hair.
For the scent they put lemon oil and geranium oil in it which gives it a nice sweet herbal scent.

My Opinion:

The scent:

When I first heard about this shampoo I thought that it would smell like honey and than I red on the Lush site that it did not smell like honey at all.
For me it does smell like honey which is a huge plus for me! It smells really sweet and herbal.
It is not the best scent ever but it isn't horrible. It is just a Lush scent (The product from Lush have some kind of scent that I can always tell if it is a Lush product or not, really weird I know).

Does it work?

I have been using this shampoo for a couple of weeks and I definitely see a difference. The first time I tried it my hair felt so soft and smooth. Right now it isn't as soft and smooth as the first time, but it still does it's work.
I also see a different in texture. I do not really have frizzy hair but sometimes I do, with this shampoo I do not see any frizz and the shine is amazing!
The scent is not to overwhelming, but you do smell it during the day.
The roots of my hair do feel a little bit greasy at the end of the day, so I think this shampoo is perfect for every day use.

End result

I really like this shampoo. It does it's job: more shine, less frizz and just healthy looking hair. The smell is nice, not to overwhelming and the fact that there is more than 50% honey in it really convinces me of repurchasing it, just because I looove honey!

Have you tried it yet, or other products from Lush that I should try? Tell me about it!
