L'Oréal Paris X Balmain Lipstick in 469 Fever

This post has been long in the making. I pre-ordered this lipstick because I was really excited about the collection, then I was so busy with my thesis that I couldn't wear it because I had to take photos first –blogger struggles-. And now the lighting is so bad outside that every time I want to show you the way it looks on my lips it's too dark. Anyways, here I am with a full review of one of the nicest colours from the L’Oréal Paris X Balmain collection.

It was quite hard for me to decide which lipstick to pick. Since I wanted to not spend all my money on the entire collection I set my eyes on just one. Better said than done when you are a lipstick junkie like me. After spending a lot of time looking at swatches and colours I ended up choosing the colour 468 Fever. A warm red orange colour that got my attention right from the start.

First of all, I LOVE the packaging of these lipsticks. I would not expect any different as mister Balmain himself, Olivier Rousteing, designed them. There are three different themes in this collection (Safari, Rock & Couture) and each theme has their own colour. As this lipstick is part of the Safari collection, the lipstick comes in green marble and gold packaging. It complements the orange colour so well and it looks really luxurious. Especially with the Balmain logo printed on the side.

The lipstick is supposed to be matte and although they are a mattifying on the lips they don't come near the Colourpop matte liquid lipsticks. Personally I’m a bit done with the Kylie Jenner liquid lipstick trend -even though I have about 25 liquid lipsticks- so I don't mind that. I love how natural these kinds of lipsticks can make your lips look in comparison to the liquid form. It doesn't mean I will never wear liquid lipsticks again; I just need a break I think.
The Fever lipstick is really easy to apply and the orangey red colour has a good pay off. The pigmentation is good and with one swipe I have a full orange pout. It lasts as long as many other lipsticks I own. It won't budge when you don't eat or drink, but since this is me it's quite impossible to not eat and drink all day, so touch ups are definitely necessary.
I always get so many complements when I wear this lipstick. It makes me look awake and happy without being too out there as some orange lipsticks can be a bit too crazy. I mean I love me some MAC Morange but not on a daily basis. In summer maybe, but in winter it's a big no no for me.

Fever is definitely a lipstick that I will wear more often. It's a perfect all seasons kind of lipstick, it stays on very long, looks good on a lot of skin tones and you'll probably get lots of complements. What's not to like? The collection has been out for a few months now, but I did see them at the L’Oréal counter when I was in London a couple of weeks ago. You have to check them out if you haven't already. Or just have another look, because the other shades are also to die for!

Have you tried any lipsticks from the L'Oréal Paris X Balmain collection?

Review | L'Oréal Paris Studio Line TXT Sprays

As you know I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. At the moment I am totally in love with it, but there are times I really want to cut it off. The reason for all the love is the purchase of these two sprays. I have tried them out for a while know and I have to say they are two affordable hair beauties.
Texturized hair is an IT thing in the beauty department right now. I love it as well. I always look at blogger photos and think: How do they get there hair like that? I may have taken a step in the right direction with these two.

The two sprays in question are the:
L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT06 Wave Creating Spray
L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT07 Volume Texturizing Spray

You can use them both separately but work best together. Let take a closer look at them shall we?

L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT06 Wave Creating Spray
According to L'Oréal Paris it is supposed to immediately make waves in straight hair. It is non-heavy and non-crunchy. You shake it up, spray it on damp hair, twist strands of hair around you finger and blow-dry them.
I have used this method that is on the Dutch packaging and it doesn’t really work. I do get wavy hair but not as much as I would like. I spray it in my hair and it does give texture, but I feel like there is so much more potential for my hair with this product. I just haven't found the right way to work with it yet.

L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT07 Volume Texturizing Spray
According to L'Oréal Paris this immediately gives texture and amazing volume to your hair. It is non-heavy, non-stiff, non-crunchy and brushable. You separate your hair into four parts. Spray every part generously and scrunch you hair. Do this till you get the desired effect.
I really like the volume it gives my hair. It gives it that matt and messy hair look. The only cons are that it doesn’t last all day. I have to scrunch my hair a lot threw the day to have the same effect as I did when I left the house. Also I find that it makes my roots slightly greasy through the day. But for the rest I think it is an awesome product and it gives my hair the volume and texture it needs!

I really think textured and volumized hair suits me, so I am happy there is finally a drugstore edition. Even though I am still lurking for the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, but for now this works just as well.

Have you tried any hair texturizing products lately?

Haul | Drugstore Make-up: L'Oréal, Rimmel, Catrice and Essence

Make-up can be really expensive. Especially when you go for the higher brands. Drugstore brands on the other hand are cheaper. But still, for the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara you pay €16,99, for a foundation from L'Oréal you pay €15,99. I think that it’s really overpriced for drugstore products. Especially when you compare the prices to other countries.
So when a good deal comes around I am there. Last week there was a buy one, get one free deal on all make-up. You got 50% discount on the total amount.
I told myself you do not really need anything. But when you are standing there you just want it all. Since everyone knew about this it was really busy. It was like a day at Primark. So I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I managed to buy everything I wanted, even though I did not really needed everything.

L'Oréal True Match Foundation in R1 C1 Rose Ivory, from €15,99 for €8,00

This foundation was my holy grail product when I was about 15 years old. I’ve used this one for years and years, until I wanted a little bit more coverage. I wanted to try it out again. Since I am very pale, it is really hard to find a drugstore foundation that matches my skin. I  use Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation right now, but I cannot find it any more in stores. I also wanted something that was less illuminating. So I am excited to try this one out.

Essence Fancy Lashes, from €2,59 for €1,30

I never really wear false lashes. I bought a pair of Primark lashes once and they made me look hideous, so I’ve never worn them. This pair however looks very natural but dramatic. I cannot wait to wear these on Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 120 Cutting Edge, from €8,99 for €4,50

Since I don’t have enough lipsticks already, I bought another one. A friend of mine has this and it looked so amazing that I also needed to add this to my lipstick stash. The formula is not drying and the color payoff is amazing. It is a pinky purple and I will wear this a lot this fall and winter.

Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder in 010 Transparent, from €3,59 for €1,80

I have a really oily t-zone so I need to powder my face. My other powder ran out, so I decided to try this one. I bought it in the lightest color. I already tried it a couple of times and I do not really like it. After a couple of hours my face gets really shiny. I have had other powders that kept my face matt for a long time. Even after that time it did not look as shiny. But I will give it some time and if I do not like it then, it’s just not for me.

Catrice Made To Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen in 010 In The Mood For Nude, from €2,89 for €1,45

Lately you see a lot of waterline highlighters. You put a white or flesh colored eye pencil on your waterline and it gives you an instant wide awake look. I already bought a white one, but I also wanted to try this one out. It is very long lasting and the color payoff is great. I do think I like the white one better. It makes them more awake than the other one.

Catrice Eye Liner Pen in 010 Black, from €2,99 for €1,50

I love a black line above my eyes. I already discovered that gel liner is nothing for me. It always creases and I never get that thin line. Eyeliner pens are amazing because I can get a precise thin line. Although not every pen is the best. It runs out very quickly or black isn’t black, if you know what I mean.
This one belongs in both categories. The color isn’t very black. When I draw a line I need to go over that line five times before there is an actual ’’black’’ line. Because of that I feel like there isn’t a lot of product in there. The plus point is that it is very long lasting. I will keep looking for that perfect eyeliner.

So these were all the items I bought. I know I didn’t buy a lot, but I actually didn’t really needed anything. Only foundation and powder, and then all these other bits went in my basket. I cannot wait to create a look with all the items!

Have you bought any make-up products recently?
