Skincare | Updated Skincare Routine 2013

So I did a skincare routine probably about a year ago. Since that it has changed a lot. So I felt like it was time to share my new skincare routine with you.

Morning routine:

In the morning I don't really do a lot. I wash my face with the Cetaphil Cleanser, than I dry my face with a towel and moisturise my face with the Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion.

I want to do more though, but I have no idea what..

Evening routine:

So in the evening I do a way more than in the morning. I have a lot of steps that I do every evening.

Step 1: I start with washing my hands. This way I have no bacteria on my hands.

Step 2: Taking of my eye make-up. I use a drugstore eye cleansing oil with a cotton pad (not in photo) and make sure that all my eye make-up is removed.

Step 3: I take 2-3 pumps of the MAC Cleansing Oil and massage that into my face. Then I rinse my face with lukewarm water so that most of the make-up and oil is of my face.

Step 4: I take a pea size amount of the Philosophy Purity Cleanser and massage that in to my face. My face is still wet so I do not have to add water. I recently rediscovered my face brush (not in photo). It is a small brush that you can use to cleanse your face. I make the brush wet and use circular motions on my face. I use it very gently, otherwise my skin will get very irritated. After that I rinse my face with lukewarm water and dry my face with a towel.

Step 5: Now it is time for my toner/tonic. I haven't used one in a while, but it really makes a difference. I take 2 pumps of the Pixi Glow Tonic on a cotton pad and take that all over my face.

Step 6: At night I use the Hydraluron Serum. I take a pea size amount and massage this in to my skin.

Step 7: For moisturiser I use the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion. I take a pea size amount and again massage this in to my skin.

Optional:

Eye cream: I know that this is maybe a bad thing, but I do not use eye cream every night. I used the Kiehl's eye cream with avocado. Which I really liked, but I never really saw a difference, so I didn't repurchase it. I have a lot of eye cream samples though so that is what I use. Right know I use the Snowberry Smoothing Eye Serum and I have to say I really like it.

Acne: For this I still use Lush Grease Lightning. I have not really found THE acne fighting product for my skin, so if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them.

So this is my morning and evening skincare routine. I hope it has helped some of you and I would love to know what your skincare routine is!

Review | The Nude Edition: Rimmel Nude Delight Lipstick

For fall I always have two make-up looks: natural eyes and a dark lip or heavy eyes and a nude lip. I do not own a lot of nude lipsticks, I think I have two of them, so I felt like I needed a new nude favourite in my live.
Nude lipsticks are so quick and easy. You do not need a mirror to apply it and it always looks good. It is 'your lips but better'.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight. In store for EUR 9,99.

I've seen this one in a couple of YouTube videos and decided to pick it up. Normally lipstick can dry your lips out. That's why I normally go for lipbalm. Quick, easy and always looks good. This one however is also very moisturising which is nice with the cold winter months coming up.

The Moisture Renew Lipsticks by Rimmel are very hydrating, they have a SPF 20 and vitamins A, C and E to protect your lips even more.

At first I have to say I love the packaging. It is a metallic purple with silver detailing.
The lipstick has a gorgeous peachy nude colour. It has no glitter in it, for me personally I prefer it like that. I do not really like glitter on my lips. It reminds me of the lipglosses at the childrens section you see sometimes.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is really good. One swipe of this on and your good to go. It doesn't dry out my lips. Of course you need to reapply it once in a while.
Honestly I do not really know if it is very longlasting. Because it is a nude, it is not very noticeable when it's gone.
I do really like this lipstick, but I still have another nude which is still number one for me: Catrice Ultimate Colour 190 The Nuder The Better. I am really curious to other colours of the Rimmel Moisture Renew Collection. In the UK they added ten more colours to the range. I am really looking forward to Glam Plum Fulham, since it is know as a MAC Rebel dupe.

(A little update I saw some of the new shades in the drugstore! Yeeeh!)

What is you favourite lipstick this fall?

Skincare | Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil Free Lotion

I thought that I should write about this product, since I've been using it for almost one and a half years.
Two years ago I was looking for a good moisturiser. The one that I used got discontinued, and I was struggling with finding a good one. I tried a lot of them, but I couldn't find one that I really liked and made my skin look amazing.
I came across the brand Kiehl's at that time. I red it in a Pretty Little Liars book. Haha. A little bit later after that me and my sister were in a department store and at the beauty department they had Kiehl's. A week later I went to the store. The lady there advised me to try this one and gave me some samples. It really tingled on my skin, so I was afraid that I would be allergic. But I fell in love with it ever since and repurchased it over and over again.

They describe it as: ''This oil-free lightweight, moisturising lotion help visibly reduce excess oil on skin's surface, leaving a shine-free and balanced appearance. Our non-greasy hydrator traps moisture to deeply condition skin and restore its moisture barrier.''

It is:

- Paraben free
- Colorant- free
- Fragrance- free
- Oil-free

The lotion has a really nice consistency. It is really creamy and thick. It makes my skin feel really soft and moisturised. There is supposed to be no scent in the lotion, but I think the scent of the lotion is very noticeable. I do not really know how to describe it. A chemical/minty scent maybe? I can imagine that some people actually hate the scent, but I don't find it irritating.
In the beginning it definitely reduced the oil on my face, but after a year I don't think it does that anymore.
I love this moisturiser. I haven't tried anything that is better than this product. Also the people at the Kiehl's counter are always really helpful.
If you have never tried products from Kiehl's before I definitely recommend going there and look what works best for your skin!

Review | Hydraluron Moisture Booster by Indeed Labs

So there was a such a huge hype around this product that I just couldn't resist. Everyone was talking about how good it was, and what a difference it made for there skin. So when I went to London last summer I picked up one to try it out. Later that week I picked up another one, so that I would at least make it till the end of this year.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster £24,99 at Boots

Hydraluron is a hydration serum with hyaluronic acid. It was inspired by the luxury hydration treatments in clinics. Over time this restores the hydration level of your skin, which also means you have to use less moisturiser.

It is a gel type consistency. I never expected that this clear gel would make my skin feel so good. I only use it in the evening. Mainly because I do not want to use it to much. I can't just go to the store and buy a new one. I use it after my toner and before my moisturiser. After you've put it on, your face feels really sticky. This does not really annoy me, I apply my moisturiser immediately after that.

My skin feels really hydrated. Before, I sometimes had a really dry and irritating feeling on my skin. I had to moisturise immediately after I showered, because my skin felt so dry. I don't have that feeling anymore. The texture of my skin looks smooth and healthy.

I definitely think the hype around this product is totally worth it. The only con about it, is that I have to go to London to buy it. Not that I mind having a little shopping spree to London. But it would be easier if it was available in stores over here. My bank account will thank you for that!

Have you tried Hydraluron? What are your thoughts?

Review | Estée Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush in Tease

So if you have red some articles on my blog you know that I am really sensitive for hypes. Whenever there is a hype going on I want to try it. Bioderma, I have it. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, I have it. Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer, I have it. And this list goes one and one. I know that I am probably not the only one who has this problem. Hahaha.
That's sort of how I bought this product. I watch YouTube videos a lot and that's how I found out about this product.

Estée Lauder came out with her S/S line and it also had a beautiful illuminating blush. I saw the blush being used in a lot of tutorials on YouTube and it made me also want to get it. When I went to the store it was already sold out, this was in May. In June I went to another store in my town and it was also sold out. I sort of gave up the hope to find it. Then a miracle happened. I went shopping with my mom a couple of weeks ago. We went to a drugstore that also had a small luxury beauty department. They had Estée Lauder, so I looked at the counter and they still had it on the display. I asked if they still had one. She looked it up and pulled THE blush out. I was so happy and overjoyed. (*cough cough* beauty addict). It was €48, which is a bit expensive for a blush, but it is totally worth it.

The blush is beautiful. It is a very light pink with lots of shimmer in it. I love glowy skin, so this is perfect to accomplish that look.
The packaging is amazing. Just what you expect from a luxury brand.
All with all I am very happy that I found it. It is a perfect light pink colour. I think I will wear this blush a lot. It is very subtle. You can apply it very lightly for a nice sheen or you can apply more for a very shimmery pink look.

Which blush do you love for fall?

Health | Foods for Healthy Skin

What you eat reflects on your skin. Some people can eat everything they want and still have perfect skin. For me, it doesn't work that way. I know that when I eat healthy, my skin looks good and that makes me happy as well. Since I was like twelve years old, I always had struggles with my skin. I would get blemishes and those leave scars. I still get blemishes, mainly on my chin. I noticed that when I eat really healthy, so no processed food, my face clears up and I have healthy looking skin. I try to eat as healthy as possible, but sometimes you just crave things. I want to cut all the bad processed food out of my life. It is healthier for my body and for my skin.

I have noticed that my skin looks better when I eat these foods, so maybe they will help for you as well.

Avocado

Avocado's are a good source of fiber and vitamins B6, C, K and folate. It is true that an avocado contains a lot of fat, but these are good fats. These fats are good for your heart and for me they make a huge difference for my skin and hair.

I love to make fresh guacamole and dip it with carrots, cucumber, paprika and celery. This a healthier option than tortilla chips. And it is super yummie!

Carrots

Carrots are full of the powerful antioxidant beta carotene. Carrots also contain a lot of vitamin A, which is good to maintain healthy skin. Overall this is the perfect snack to improve the health of your eyes, skin, hair and nails.

Personally I really see a difference in my skin when I eat carrots. I get less blemishes and my skins looks smoother.

Flaxseed

Flaxseeds are a good source of good fats, fiber and antioxidants. It also helps lower the risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

I always put them in my soy yoghurt or in a smoothie. This is an easy way you add them into your diet.

Almonds

This nut contains a lot of good fats, as most nuts do. They improve the health of your skin, hair and nails. They also reduce the risk of a heart attack and lower you cholesterol.

I eat them as a snack or add some to my soy yoghurt in the morning.

Water

Water keeps your body hydrated and flushes out all the bad things. When your skin is hydrated it looks fresh, smooth and glowing.

This is the most powerful thing I know for healthy skin. When I drink lots of water I see such a difference. I get clear skin and it just looks better. I always keep a bottle in my bag, so that I can refill it. This way I have no excuse not to drink water.

Green tea

Green tea contains a lot of antioxidants and they lower the risk of cancer.

I personally love tea. Especially now that the colder months are coming. I probably drink it every day. Sometimes I add honey which is also very healthy for your skin.

After drinking or eating these foods I always see such a difference in my skin. I hope you find this helpful. I also want to upload some healthy recipes. I love cooking, so this will be a great way of sharing that with you!

What are your healthy skin foods?

Review | Riri Hearts MAC: Riri Woo

So last week the Riri Hearts MAC Fall Collection came out. I immediately set my eyes on the lipstick Talk that Talk. Unfortunately is couldn't get my hands on it. But I did managed to get my hands on the famous Riri Woo lipstick
Riri Woo is pretty similar to the Ruby Woo lipstick. But I just wanted something from the Riri Collection, the packaging was just to pretty!

MAC Riri Woo Lipstick - €20 - 3g/0,1 oz

The packaging is rose gold and has Riri <3 MAC written on it with a big R that is the same as on her Rated R album. Isn't this just to die for?

On to the lipstick itself. It is a gorgeous matt cool red lipstick. It has Riri written on it which is a nice detail. The colour itself is amazing. The pigmentation is also really good. I have a few matt lipsticks in my collection and normally they make my lips very very dry. This one does not do that. My lips feel a little bit dry, but I think that is the matt formula. Just put a lipbalm underneath and you will be fine for a couple of hours. Personally I think it is suitable for all skin types. It is just the perfect red matt for all occasions.

Review | Pixi Glow Tonic

So after I saw this on Lily Pebbles' channel I really wanted to try it. Caroline Hirons talked about this on her blog and everyone went crazy for this product. So did I. I was afraid that it would be sold out in the store, but luckily they had a lot of bottles left.

The Glow Tonic is oil-free an alcohol-free. I has a lot of aloe vera and witchhazel in it. This tones and firms the skin and makes it look amazing. It also exfoliates your skin. I bought it for 16 pounds (250 ml) at the Pixi store in Carnaby Street, London.

I was afraid that it would irritate my skin, but it didn't. I use two to three pumps on a cotton pad at night, before I apply my Hydraluron and my moisturiser. I really like this as a toner. It removes the cleanser and make-up that is still left on my face. It exfoliates my skin. It just feels amazing!
I hoped that it would give me healthy glowy skin. I definitely see more of a glow on my skin. My acne scars are also less visible which is always nice.

I will definitely stock up on these when I get back to London. Because you can only buy it at there store in Carnaby Street.

Favourites | September 2013

So it seems like this month went so fast. We went from summer to fall in this month. Personally I love the fashion in fall. The only con is the weather. It is so cold already, or maybe it is just me who thinks that haha.
This month I have a lot of favourites . I discovered a lot of products in London and also over the last two months.
So lets get to them:

Pixi Glow Tonic

So I picked this up in London after all the hype around this product. I have to admit this product is amazing. It really makes my skin smooth and glowy looking.

Hydraluron

Another hype product, and again this product is amazing! It really makes your skin feel more hydrated. You also need less moisturiser.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Spray

I saw this in the videos of Miss Glamorazzi. I went to TK Maxx and they had it there, so I decided to pick it up. The scent is a little bit weird, but the product itself is amazing. It makes my hair really really soft and shiny.

Dove Maximum Protection Deodorant in Go Fresh Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena

It is maybe a little bit weird to put a deodorant in my favourites, but this is amazing! I have used the same deodorant for a couple of years now and I wanted something different. It was a spray deodorant, so you also inhale the product. Which is not really good for you. When this came on the market I decided to try it. It is really good. It works even better than my spray deodorant. Just don't put on to much. That is a little tip for everyone haha.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

Everyone talked about this brush, so I wanted to see if it is really that good. I also ''needed'' a new foundation brush haha. I've used it ever since. It blends very well. I makes your foundation look very good and it also washes well.

MAC 217 Brush

This was a little cheeky purchase at Heathrow airport. It was cheaper in London and it had an extra discount. That was an easy decision to make! The brush itself is perfect. It applies eyeshadow really well and blends it perfectly. The bristles are so soft. Definitely the best eyeshadow brush ever!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory

When I first put this on I hated it. It looked very orange on me and that it not really the look I am going for. After that I started mixing it with my Bourjouis Healthy Mix Foundation. When that one ran out I just started using it on its own. It is a really nice foundation. It gives you a healthy looking glow. It gives medium coverage but you can build it up. The perfect foundation for healthy looking skin.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle

Another cheeky airport purchase. I wanted this for a while, but with the discount I finally went for it. It is the most beautiful shimmer I have ever seen. I put it on my cheekbones and it gives me the most amazing glow. You think it is very visible but in the daylight it isn't very noticeable  This is the best highlighter EVER!

Max Factor False Lash Effect in Waterproof Black

After using Maybelline The Rocket mascara this was sort of a let down. It gave my eyelashes volume, but it just wasn't good enough. After using it everyday I slowly started to fall in love with this. I makes my eyelashes so long and gives them so much volume. Now I like this one better than The Rocket!

Stila in the Light Pallet

Another London purchase. My eye immediately went to Kitten. It is just the most beautiful nude shimmery eyeshadow. The other colours are also beautiful, but I like Kitten the most. The pallet has a lot of different colours (matt and shimmery), so you can make a lot of looks. Definitely a good purchase.
