S. Oliver So Pure

A month ago I was at a S. Oliver event for their new fragrance collection 'So Pure'. I know S. Oliver mainly from their fashion, so I was excited to get to know the brand and their new eau de toilettes.

The event was held at the Hoxton Hotel in Amsterdam. I had never been there, but of course heard about the hotel from everybody on Instagram, and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is absolutely stunning -I'm basing this only on the lobby and room where the event took place. No way that I can afford to stay here for a week-. We were welcomed by a glass of champagne and a gorgeous room fully decorated with green apples, So Pure and the book Hygge. After a few chats, food and sips of bubbles we sat down in a room where we got a bit more information about So Pure. We got even more food -the cheesecake was my favourite, obviously- and headed home with a bag full of goodies to review.

The collection So Pure is inspired by the Danish word Hygge which means: enjoying life's simple pleasures, like family, friends, candles or taking a warm bath; the simple things in life.
Especially with all the craziness of work, social media and society standards, I think it's a good message for a fragrance. We also got the book Hygge as a gift, and I feel bad that I still haven't read it. I will make it my mission to finish it before 2017 ends or maybe I will take it with me to New York, since I will need some reading company on my solo brunches in the Big Apple.

The So Pure collection has a fragrance for women and also one for men*. I don't have that much knowledge about men fragrances, just what I do and don't like, and I have to say that I love this scent. It smells very 'manly' -such a good description, not- and my non-existing boyfriend would absolutely love it, so I gave it to my stepdad who likes it a lot. There you go, approved by a male, so it must be good.

Here the scent for both fragrances, since I already proved that I suck at describing scents - what even is a 'manly' scent haha?-

So Pure for Her
Top Note: Ivy, Calamansi, Apple
Middle Note: Freesia, Jasmin, Cashmere Wood
Base Note: Ambrox, Musk, Sandal Wood

So Pure for Him
Top Note: Bergamot, Green Apple, Cardamom
Middle Note: Lavender, Violets, Geranium,
Base Note: Cedar wood, Sandal Wood, Amber

Back to the stuff that I do know: women’s fragrances! S. Oliver So Pure for Her* reminds me of a fragrance that I used to have when I was little. We even had a chat about it at the event. All the woman at my table thought exactly the same when they smelled it, but they couldn't remember the name of the perfume. I mainly think it gives that homely feel, because it's very floral, and I used to have so many floral scents when I was young. It was my go-to thing.
I do like the So Pure for Her scent. It's definitely a more spring/summer scent for me as it’s very floral and sweet. It's an eau de toilette, but quite strong considering that it's not a parfum. The design of both bottles is very minimalistic, sleek and breathes the Hygge lifestyle. Something that’s also good for the eyes? The price. For 30 ml you pay €17,99 (Him) and €22,99 (Her) per bottle. Don't know why the price is different per gender, but products designed for woman are usually more expensive. Probably because we are easily tempted to buy stuff? I don't know. To make it even better they also have a shower gel*, body lotion* and deodorant*. That way you can completely smell like the So Pure scent.

The S. Oliver So Pure fragrance line is a good new addition to the already existing fragrances from S. Oliver. I love the philosophy behind it and they smell pretty good if you ask me. They are sold around stores in Europe and online, so definitely give them a sniff when you see them on display somewhere.

What do you think about these S. Oliver fragrances?

*The items with a * were kindly sent to me. My opinion and fruity scent are completely my own.

Oysho Eau de Parfum .1

Have you ever been in the situation where someone walks past, you get a whiff of their perfume and immediately think: I wish I knew what that scent was? This happens to me on numerous occasions and I think I finally found the scent that I have been searching for all this time.

When I was in Barcelona last October we also went shopping. We went to a lot of shops and also stumbled into Oysho, a sister of Zara. It's the perfect shop for lounge- and sleepwear, and when I walked inside I could smell this familiar scent. It might not be exactly like the perfume that I smelled before but it came pretty close. The entire store smelled like the perfume that they call their '.1' scent (50ml/€19,99). I didn't buy it in the store then, but luckily for me they also had a shop at the airport, so I didn't had to worry about liquids and stuff, because believe me, my liquids bag was full till the brim.
The bottle itself is not fancy and maybe a bit cheap looking. Like with everything in life, it's about the inside that counts.

Since I suck at describing scents I took the description of Oysho:
''Myrtle with a touch of green prevails in the opening, and as the fragrance evolves, a constant play is noted between the feminine and masculine. The essence is composed of a hot splash of iris that contrasts with the hint of leather. Finally, the undertone is characterised by notes of wood and amber, which are softened by the creaminess of vanilla and the sensuality of white musk.''

Now I do think it's not a scent that everyone loves. Not like Chanel Mademoiselle or La Vie Est Belle do. The friend that I was with actually hated it and said I should not buy it, but oh well, I did anyway. Back in my homely surroundings I do think it would've been better if I bought the Eau de Toilette, because it is quite strong. Normally I don't smell my perfume at the end of the day, but with this one I bloody do!

I am happy to have finally discovered the scent that I would smell all the time - at least I hope this is the one - and I can't wait to wear it more. Maybe I should spritz it in the air and walk right through it like they do in the movies. I always thought that was stupid, but with this perfume it might be a good trick!

Korres Vanilla / Freesia / Lychee EDT

When my holiday to Greece came to an end I was really sad. Although flying still excites me, the return flight wasn't as fun as the week before. To make myself feel a bit better I always go and have a look in the airport shops. I already bought a huge bar of chocolate and a Korres Shower Gel but on my way to get a healthy juice I spotted another beauty store. I was actually looking for a cleanser from Clinique, but since that was nowhere to be seen I was stuck at the Korres counter, again. This time my eye fell on their perfumes. I took a whiff of all the scents and immediately fell in love with their Vanilla, Freesia and Lychee scent (€39,00/50ml). Since Korres is a Greek brand and it was tax free I bought it in a whim and together with my juice I felt a bit better about going to the cold, rainy Netherlands. At least I would smell nice.

The perfume comes in a pretty colourful box. It has a very chique bottle and a white lid. In my opinion black would've made it even better, but I have to leave some room for improvement right? And honestly for something that smells that good I don't care what it looks like.
There is a thing about the scent that I can't describe. It has that warm feeling that my LancĂ´me La Vie Est Belle and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle also have. A few spritzes and I will smell it the entire day. Even when I have nothing to wear and I am in a rush and basically just grab whatever is on the floor -I know so bad!- I still smell the Eau de Toilette on my clothes.

In the end I have nothing bad to say about this gorgeous perfume. It might not be your thing but scents are personal after all. Sometimes you like something and sometimes you don't. For me this will definitely be a reason to come back to Greece. I can get it here as well, but it's cheaper in Greece and I finally have a good excuse to book another trip to that sunny country.

Have you tried anything from Korres?

LancĂ´me La Vie est Belle

Every year around my birthday I get a new perfume. I mainly get money or gift cards for a beauty store down town and as soon as my b-day is over I make my way there as fast as I can. This time around I decided to go for a perfume that has been on my wish list for a while now: LancĂ´me La Vie est Belle. I had samples of this perfume, but nothing beats spritzing it on and smelling that amazing scent every day.

I have the Eau de Parfum Spray because I like to have a strong scent that stays on all day. And with this perfume I can actually smell myself, even though I sprayed it on six hours ago. I find that with many other perfumes I can't smell the scent anymore. Of course you can get used to it, but I switch my perfume every day so I should be able to smell the difference.

LancĂ´me La Vie est Belle is a very warm and rich perfume. To me, it has the same vibe as Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, in the way that it smells very rich and is a classic when it comes to scents. Since I am the worst at describing scents I have the notes for you right here:

Top Note: The elegance of Iris
Middle Note: The strength of Patchouli
Base Note: A sweet gourmand

My advice is to smell the scent yourself - you probably already have, but I still think you have to smell it again, because it's that good! - It's the perfect perfume all year round and smells good on everybody. I have a lot of perfumes, but this one, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, are probably my favourite scents in the world!

What are your thoughts on LancĂ´me La Vie Est Belle?

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess

EstĂ©e Lauder always brings out amazing products around the summer time. Last year I was obsessed with the EstĂ©e Lauder Kendall Jenner lipstick - I still am tbh- and this year I had to get the oh so popular EstĂ©e Lauder Bronze Goddess scent.

I was on the urge of buying it last year but summer was almost over and since I already have a million other perfumes, I decided not to purchase it. This time around, I knew that it had to be my summer scent so when my mum asked me what I wanted for my birthday I already had an answer: The Bronze Goddess perfume!

We immediately ordered it as soon as I got the email that it was in stock again, but after that I doubted a bit. What if the scent wasn't as good as I remembered? I hadn't smelled this perfume since last August so maybe I hated it now. You never know.
Luckily I had nothing to worry about because it is so lovely. I sprayed it on as soon as my order arrived and I immediately felt the urge to go on a holiday and lay on the beach with a coconut in my hand. It really has that summery vibe that my other perfumes don't have and since I am super bad at describing perfumes I have the official notes right here:

Sensuous Notes
Amber. Coconut Milk. Sandalwood. Vanilla. Vetiver. Myrrh

Warm Notes
Juicy Mandarin. Sicilian Bergamot. Lemon. Pulpy Orange

Radiant Notes
Tiare Flower. Jasmine. Magnolia Petals. Orange Flower Buds. Lavender

-Or in my words: summer with a hint of coconut-

You get 100ml for €65,00 which I think is a really good price for a perfume like this. Even though it's an Eau FraĂ®che skinscent I find that it stays on well and I can smell myself pretty much the whole day -as in smelling in a good way of course haha-. If you haven't smelled this scent yet I highly recommend you go and a take a look at an EstĂ©e Lauder counter. I am going on a holiday in about four weeks time and I can't wait to pop this in my suitcase and leave a lovely scent wherever I go.

Have you tried this scent already?

Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity

When I heard about the new Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity range and the fact that the body mist was, again, part of the collection, I was very happy. Last year, I purchased some of the Zoella Beauty products when the line came out (read that post here) and the body mist was my fave out of the entire line. Not that I tried all of the products, but anyways..
Because of the shipping fee, I decided to also order the lip balm. I'd rather pay for the lip balm than for the shipping fee, so in the end they were both shipped to me for free! While I was at work my mum Whats Apped me saying that a package had arrived and I knew that it had to be my Feel Unique order, so when I came home I grabbed my scissors, opened it up and gave the perfume a good sniff.

The problem with ordering online is that you don't know how it smells. What if you absolutely HATE it? Then you can't really send it back, but since the body mist wasn't that expensive I'd took a risk and ordered it anyway. I also thought that I would really like it, since I am in love with the scent of the first Zoella Beauty range, and it turns out I was right.

I can't really put it into words, but the fruity scent reminds me of something I used to have when I was a little girl. Little Mar was obsessed with beauty and I used to buy cheap perfumes, mascaras and sparkly lip glosses with the sweetest strawberry scent, so it could be possible that I might picked up a perfume that had a similar scent. I try to remember it, but it doesn't ring a bell.

I picked up two items: the Lets Spritz fragranced body mist and the Kissy Missy lip balm. Let's just say that I LOVE the packaging of the body mist. The colours are so pretty and I love the little dots! I love the scent and since I was in desperate need of a summer scent this came in very handy! It's so fruity, sweet and summery and it totally brings me back to my childhood. Don't expect the scent to last a whole day. It's a body mist and not a perfume, but I love how light it is. Definitely perfect for the spring and summer time!

The Kissy Missy lip balm has a different, more vanilla-like scent and a hint of pink on the lips. It's a little jar, which I am personally not the biggest fan off. I find it not the most hygienic thing in the world, but oh well.
It's very moisturizing and really stays on for a long time. I actually had it on my lips when I went to sleep (I needed a lip balm and this was the first thing I could find) and I woke up with pink lips. I think it's a great lip balm, but I am personally not a fan of the colour. I'd rather have something a bit more coral/peachy colored than this bright pink, so for that reason I probably won't wear it as much.

Overall I am really happy with my purchase. I love the fragranced body mist A LOT and I think it's perfect for the summer time. The lip balm is good, but the colour is just not my thing.

Have you bought anything from the Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity range?

My Perfume Collection

A spritz of your favourite perfume can bring up so many memories. I used to have a Sarah Jessica Parker perfume that took me back to the period of time, back in 2010, when I had a summer job in a clothing store. Unfortunately I don't have that colourful bottle anymore, but I still have some other, maybe even better, fragrances that are currently standing on a stack of books on my dressing table. Let’s go through them all, shall we?

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum
This was the first luxury perfume I ever bought. The moment I first smelled this scent I was sold and this is already my second bottle of this perfume. I love how sophisticated it makes me feel and it's definitely my most favourite out of them all.

Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum
For my birthday I would always get gift cards for this luxury beauty boutique in town and I would mainly spend them on perfumes. That's actually how I bought this one from Chanel. I got a sample and immediately fell in love with the scent. This perfume also makes me feel so much like a grown up, I love it!

Dior Miss Dior Eau de Parfum
Again a gift card purchase. I love the floral scent of this Dior perfume. It just brightens my day every time I spray it on. It also stays on for a very long time. At the end of the day I can still smell the perfume, which for me is a big plus!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau de Parfum
This perfume has a special place in my heart. For my internship, last year, I went to the press event of this beauty and it was the first event I ever went to. I was very nervous, but in the end everything turned out great. I took some pictures, socialized and ate a delicious cupcake!
The perfume itself is lovely and if you like the Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance, you will love this. And even if you don't like it, just buy it for the pretty bottle. It will look stunning on your dressing table. This is a joke of course. Not really

United Colors of Benneton Love Yourself Eau de Toilette
Another beauty event perfume! I quite liked the event. We did a laughter yoga session, which basically means that you have to laugh, because laughing makes you happy. There are three perfumes in the collection and I received the pink 'Love Yourself' edition. I like the message of this perfume a lot and above all it smells very sweet and fruity!

Zoella Beauty Blissful Mistful
When Zoe came out with her range I had to buy this body mist. I love the scent of the entire range (I haven't tried every single product, but I also own the Fizz Bar, so I assume that the entire range has the same scent). It's very floral, fresh and perfect for every day. Even though I still have some left, I'm thinking about picking up a new bottle next time I'm in London. I can’t live without it!

Van Gils Tendenza
This is an old favourite of mine. I used to own this one when I was very young and I love the fruity and floral scent. You can read more about it here!

Beyoncé Heat The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour Limited Edition
To be honest I can't really say a lot about this one. My friends forgot this birthday present, so they gave it to me on another friends' birthday and then I forgot it at her place. I am so smart. not
I picked it up last week and I do really like it. The perfume is by Beyoncé, so what's not to like?

Tendenza

Today I am talking about an old favourite of mine. When this perfume came out, I absolutely loved it and it’s actually quite some time since I have had this perfume. I saw it in a shop for only €9,99, so I knew that it was an absolute bargain and I couldn’t resist myself from buying a little present.
Perfumes can remind me of a lot of different things. Van Gils Tendenza actually reminds me of my sister. She was also obsessed with this at the time and used it every single day. It was hard not to smell here in the house, haha. A lot of perfumes actually remind me of her, probably because she just loves perfume!
I adore the fruity, floral scent and after a few spritzes it immediately puts me in a better mood. I love the simplicity of Tendenza. Even though, I can appreciate a gorgeous perfume bottle, I don’t mind that it’s all about the scent. Because it’s very fruity, I do find it’s more of a spring/summer perfume. Luckily we are hopefully changing seasons soon, so I can make it my signature scent!

What if your favourite perfume?

The Classic

Isn't it strange that a scent can bring back so many memories? For me, I always think about the fun and not so fun moments when I spritz my favourite perfume. As for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, aka my favourite perfume ever, there are only good memories.

It was the first expensive perfume I ever bought, so of course it will always be very special to me. Unfortunately after a couple of years it ran out, so luckily my mom got me a new flacon for my birthday. And yes, my birthday was in April, and yes I haven't opened the perfume till a couple of days ago. Ooopps. Do you have that problem as well, were you bought something expensive and because you paid a lot of money for it you just don’t use it?

Anyways I am happy that I finally took the time to take the foil off and enjoy this scent, because it is freaking phenomenal. It is a very classic, warm scent and perfect for fall and winter! So sorry for all my other perfumes, but you will be abandoned for the first couple of months. #sorrynotsorry.

Perfume | Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream

A new addition to the Marc Jacobs family and I have to say: I love it! In May I was invited, for my internship, to go to the launch of the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume. The minute I smelled the scent I knew that this was going to be one of my favourite perfumes.

We all know the classic Daisy perfume; this Daisy sister is dreamy, innocent and romantic. The scent is very light, fruity and floral. Especially in summer I love those sweet scents, but I know that even in autumn and winter I will spritz this dreamy perfume a lot!

It stays on for a very long time, which I find very important. Most of the time, you spray on a perfume and after a couple of hours you can’t smell the scent anymore. So annoying when that happens.. Luckily I can still smell the perfume after a long day!
Since I am not really good at describing smells other than fruity, floral, airy and super yummy; here are the notes:

Top Notes: Blackberry, Grapefruit, Pear
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Lychee, Blue Wisteria
Base Notes: White Woods, Musks, Coconut Water

Then I haven’t even spoken about the bottle design. It is so pretty! I love that the bottle is covered in daisies. The blue, white silver and gold colours look really nice together and enhance the romantic, airy look of the scent. I know that it will look amazing on my dressing table!

Do you want to pick up your own bottle? The perfume is now available in stores and online!

Eau de Toilette
30 ml               €49,94
50 ml               €66,61
100 ml             €91,06

Luminous Body Lotion
150 ml             €33,89

Refreshing Shower Gel
150 ml             €36,11

For me this is a nice addition to my perfume collection and I can’t wait to pick up more Marc Jacobs perfumes. The original Daisy and Lola are also on my wishlist! But for now I am so happy with this dreamy addition!
