Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit

Quite a while back I bought this Flawless Chisel Cheek Contour Kit from Barry M. As a person who is obsessed with contouring and highlighters I find that you can never have enough of those products in your life. And so I popped this palette in my basket and also got a free Barry M nail polish with my purchase. See this way I am actually saving money *wink wink*.

There are three powders in the palette: a matte highlighting powder, a bronzer and a contour powder. I love how the palette actually explains where to use it in case you are a newbie to the whole contouring craze. I personally love the contour shade and it's safe to say that I have hit pan on that one. It's a bit more cool-toned than the bronzer and it gives you the most amazing cheekbones. I apply it in the hollows of my cheeks, on my temples and on my jawline and neck to hide my double chin, because that gal likes to make an appearance from time to time.

The lightest matte powder doesn't do that much for me. I am quite pale myself so it doesn't really show up on my skin. For me it's more a setting powder that a matte highlighter. The bronzer is really nice when you want to warm up the face to hold onto that summer tan. I don't like to use it for contouring as I feel a cooler shade works way better for that.

I think this is a perfect contour palette. The price (£6.49) makes it such a bargain and I love the little contour guide. The packaging is also quite good and easy to open -your nails will thank you-. As I said before, I have hit pan on the contour shade, so if you use this palette every single day, it will probably last you for about 1,5 years. The powders are very pigmented, so a little bit goes a long way. Can't wait to repurchase this little one when I'm back in the UK!

The Faux Snake Skin Boots

Autumn can't come soon enough for me. I love the warm weather, but boots, sweaters and layering win every single time. Now normally I find it really hard to find boots that I like because there is always something wrong with them. Most of the time they aren't weather proof; a couple days of rain and my new, lovely boots are ruined forever. Or there is a weird buckle on them which totally makes them not so cute anymore.

When I was in London I made a quick visit to Primark and I immediately fell in love with these faux snake skin boots. I spotted the last two pairs out of the corner of my eye and sprinted over there. It said that the size was 41 but at Primark you never know. I turned the shoe and spotted the magical number 39 at the bottom and I was very happy. I put them on, tried to walk to the mirror -we all know that's so hard with the string between the boots- and fell in love with them. They were 15 pounds -hello bargain!- and they basically go with everything.

I really hope you can still find them at Primark to try these babies on yourself and otherwise you can find similar pairs on ASOS as well. They actually have some really nice boots on there at the moment, so it probably won’t be long before I talk about a new pair of boots on here!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm

Matte lips are my fave when it comes to make-up. They stay on really well, smudge less and look absolutely fab. While I was in Boots I decided to pick up a few NYX goodies including this Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm. Let's see how we get on, shall we?

The colour Stockholm is a lovely peachy tone that goes very well with my skin tone. To be honest, I think this colour will suit anyone. Yep, it's one of those! I picked up Stockholm because in the back of my mind I remembered this one was being talked about by quite a few bloggers. Crazy how that's the only colour of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams I remembered, because I'm sure there are so many other colour that are the bomb dot com!

Applying this product on my lips was quite easy and not much of a fuss. It's super creamy and after a few minutes it sets to a matte finish. I find that it stays on for 2-3 hours max. before it starts crumbling on my lips. I found that this is a very common problem with matte lip products and I have only found one product that doesn't do that (review coming soon).
When you are in a situation where you can reapply it's easier to keep your peachy pout perfect, but when I'm at work I have no time to touch up my lipstick. I will probably not wear this while I'm at work, but for other occasions I think it's perfect.
The scent is also really nice and makes me want to apply it more. It's not really overpowering and doesn't hang around for the rest of the day. I really don't like those artificial strawberry scents that won't go away. Am I the only one with this?

Overall, I think they are great value for money -they are only €7,65 (!)- and the colour is really nice. They do crumble a bit but to be honest which matte liquid lip product doesn't? I will definitely be picking up more NYX goodies in November when they open their own store in Amsterdam. SO exciting!

Have you tried the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams? What are your thoughts on them?

The Brighton Haul

I didn't just come to Brighton for the lovely seaside and a yummy stack of pancakes at Café Coho. I also came to do a bit of shopping! I absolutely fell in love with The Lanes. These cute streets are full of small independent shops with quirky items. And also: cake. Lots of cake. While I was walking through those small alleys I saw so many bakeries and cute tea shops. If I lived in Brighton you would find me in one of those places sipping tea and eating cake every single weekend!

Now since I love tea so much I had to pop in Bluebird Tea Company. I remember this shop making an appearance in Zoe's vlog and had to see what it was all about. In the end I left with two different kinds of tea: Gingerbread Chai and Nearly Nirvana. The woman that worked there was so lovely and clearly even more obsessed with tea than I am. I can't wait for the autumn weather so that I can snuggle up on the couch with a cup of tea and my favourite film.

As I walked up the road to the train station I also spotted a Boots. Now don't get me wrong, there are enough Boots stores in London, but it has happened way to many times that an item was sold out everywhere. I picked up the Super Facialist Cleansing Oil, that I also bought in January and one out of four Collection Lasting Perfection concealers (yes I picked up three more in London *insert my favourite monkey emoji here*). I also had my eyes out for a NYX counter. We have NYX here too -we are actually getting a big NYX store in a couple of months- but the items that they sell now are not the things I have on my wish list. I was happy to pop the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm and the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage in my shopping basket. I will put a full review of these babies on the blog soon!

I didn't buy a lot, but for me it was all about the Brighton experience. Sitting in Café Coho and watching all the people walk by, strolling through all those small alleys and letting that sea breeze through my hair. My visit to Brighton was definitely not the last and I hope I will be back next January to explore more of this gorgeous city!

The London & Brighton Trip 2016

Travelling is one of the things that makes me incredibly happy, even though this means I visit the same city over and over again. There is something about London that I can't explain. When I step one foot on London ground I get all excited and the weird thing is it never stops. While other people are in love with Paris, New York City or Rome I can't get enough of this British city across the pond.

Now this time around I wanted to do something different and visit another city while I was there. I've always wanted to go to Brighton and since it's only 30 minutes away from Gatwick airport I thought this was my chance to visit the seaside.
I started the day with a stack of pancakes at Café Coho and visited the Brighton Pier, Pavilion and The Lanes right after that. I have to say it was a bit lonely being on my own with a heavy suitcase following alongside me, but once I took the train to London all those feelings disappeared. I had never really traveled alone to another country before so for me it was a whole new experience.

In London I went to a small hotel in Paddington, took a quick nap – I woke up at 3 AM that morning- and shopped till I dropped. For me a London trip isn't completed without the following things:
- Going to Whole Foods to get the Guacamole and tortilla chips. They are the best late night hotel snack!
- Same goes for cake from Lola's. I had the salted caramel cake -it was as good as it sounds- and the guy behind the counter even gave me a bigger slice because they were almost closing. I love him for that! :)
- Trying out new places. I have a London food list in my phone with places where I want to eat. A bit sad maybe, but they just have way better things over there. I am happy that I can now cross Shake Shack, Joe & the Juice, Monmouth Coffee, Bluebird Tea Co. and Café Coho of that list.

As you can see I love food way too much haha!

I also went to the National History Museum with Laura. I met her through blogging and it was so lovely to finally meet her in real life. The museum itself was also very interesting and it gave me a magical Harry Potter vibe. For the rest of the three days I shopped, drank many juices from Joe & the Juice and strolled around the city. I also took a lot of photos along the way so you can enjoy the London vibe with me!

And to top it all off I’ve booked a new trip for January, so I will be back before you know it!
