My New Fashion Crush

Since the last couple of years I have developed quite a shoe collection. I don't know what it is but I am just obsessed with shoes. This year, I already bought eight pairs of shoes; a bit ridiculous, I know. Most of these are S/S shoes, so with the seasons changing I really needed a new pair of boots.

When it comes to ''cold weather shoes'' I have a hard time finding a nice, affordable pair. They are either too expensive, I am in love with the Vagabond Grace boots, or they just look cheap and hardly make it till February, because they look awful after wearing them so much.
This year I really wanted to buy well-made boots. Primark shoes are amazing, don’t get me wrong, half of my shoe collection comes from Primark, but they don’t last very long.

These boots are from ASOS and they are an absolute dream. I saw them in Suzie's haul, Suzie from Hello October, and immediately fell in love with them. Lucky me, since they were on sale with a 25% discount!
These ASOS ROYAL Leather Chelsea Ankle Boots are really well made with real leather. They look way more expensive than the €53,32 I paid for them. They are really comfy as well, although the right shoe sometimes rubs on my ankle. I still don’t have a blister, so hopefully it will be fine. I just love how they fit with everything: jeans, skirts, dresses; they are a match made in heaven for my F/W wardrobe.

I still have my eyes on two other pairs of boots. One of them will be featured very soon on the blog, since I am going to, hopefully, buy them on Tuesday!

Metallic is the Word

Nails are an accessory. You can go crazy or keep them very natural. They are my own canvas and give an extra touch to any outfit. My nail polish collection is quite small; there is a mix of neutrals, bolds and glitters, but there was a metallic missing in that bunch of polishes.
I was lucky enough to attend a GOSH Cosmetics event in June for my internship and got my hands on the new nail lacquers for Fall/Winter 2014.

This beauty (630 Moonlight; €7,29) is part of that collection and I have to say it is my new nail crush! I just love the way it looks on my nails. Metallic is not something I thought of as a nail polish colour, but it looks amazing! I am wearing three coats of nail polish on my nails; it is a sheer formula, so for full coverage you need at least three coats.
Something that really surprised me was how long the formula stayed on my nails. After six days I noticed a chip, which for a nail polish is very good. Normally I see a chip after two-three days and that always annoys me.
Another thing: it is a struggle to remove it. After rubbing a cotton pad, drenched in nail polish remover, on my nails it finally came off. But that is just a minor detail that we will forget very quickly, because overall it is an amazing nail polish when it comes to the colour and the long-lasting formula. I also have another colour from the GOSH A/W 2014 collection that will pop up on the blog very soon!

I do love the metallic nail trend that is going on! What do you think?

Cookie Monster

Sometimes you just crave something sweet and crunchy. For me this always happens when I scroll through my Tumblr feed at 11 pm. All those yummy foods make me so hungry, but inspire me as well! This cookie recipe was inspired by the video of Gabriella, aka Velvetgh0st on YouTube. But me and my friend did put a Tumblr inspired twist on it, by putting Oreo cookies in the middle. And I can tell you that this makes the cookies even more delicious!

So what do you need?
200g butter
100g white caster sugar
100g icing sugar
1 1/2 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
200g plain flower
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 Toblerone Bar (we did eat some pieces so it was a whole bar minus 4 pieces :P)
Oreo cookies (We used about six Oreo's, since we also wanted to try plain cookies)

First of all, preheat your oven to 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit.
The next step is to put the butter, caster sugar and icing sugar in a bowl and mix it together until you have a creamy, fluffy consistency.
Then you take the eggs, whisk them together and add them to the butter mixture and mix again. You can always add more egg if you want, but 1 1/2 should be enough! You also add the vanilla extract at this point.
Now it is time for the dry ingredients! Add the flower, salt and baking powder to the mixture. You could sift all the dry ingredients, but I never really do that to be honest..  Then you mix, mix, mix until you get dough that tastes exactly like Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream, YUM!
Break the Toblerone bar into pieces and cut all those triangle shaped chocolateness into big chunks and add it with the dough and mix it together.
Now take a small ice cream scooper and scoop a ball of dough on some greaseproof paper. Press an Oreo in the dough and add a second dough ball on top. Make sure that you can’t see the Oreo, so take a spoon and smooth out the dough on top of the cookie. If you want to have plain cookies than just take one scoop of dough for one cookie. I think me and my friend made about 10 cookies with this recipe. We had six Oreo cookies and 4 normal ones, so with this recipe you can either make 8 Oreo cookies or 16 normal cookies.

Put them in the oven for 12 minutes or until they are golden brown. Take them out of the oven, let them cool off and they are ready to eat! Super yummy cookies that I could eat every day!
