My Trip to Turkey

Two weeks ago it was time to hop on another plane, relax on the beach and eat unlimited scoops of ice cream: I went to Turkey. You might remember me going to Bodrum last year, but this time we decided to go for another city and our eyes landed on this hotel in Kemer, so we decided to book it.

One of the main reasons for going to Turkey is the weather and we were so lucky that the entire week that we were there was beautiful. Blue sky, sunshine and 28 ˚C every day, it was amazing! Of course hot summer weather also means getting a tan and I am happy to announce that I am no longer a vampire. The pale skin -without the Twilight sparkles unfortunately- has turned into a light tan, and to me that is a big deal. I have been excepting all the ah's and oh's gracefully as I show everyone my tan line and tell them about my chilling days on the beach.
When I was lying on the beach I also had time to read. I always buy books but I never really read them. For me, the beach is the perfect moment for those things, so that's exactly what I did. I worked my way through '13 Reasons Why' and 'Lion' in three days. I loved both of them so much. Especially 'Lion'.

Some holidays I want to be adventurous and do lots of things, explore the country that I'm in and see it all. This was not one of those holidays. We mainly came there to chill the eff out, read books, swim and sleep a lot. I know some people hate this kind of holiday, but I find it very refreshing from my busy life back home.
We did visit two cities when we were there: Kiris and Kemer. Our hotel was in Kiris and right outside were shops where you could buy some bits and bobs. Mainly touristy things and knock off Chanel bags, but it was nice to stroll around for a bit. I am actually guilty of buying a few tourist things myself. I bought a magnet in the shape of a turtle -I collect these from every country, so please don't judge that I'm being that person- and I bought six coasters with the most gorgeous flower design. They all have different colours but they match in their own unique way. They will look lovely on the coffee table in my future apartment and they were only €1 each. Such a bargain.
In Kemer we also walked around for a bit, did some shopping -I didn't buy anything- and sat down for some cake and a drink. I had a cheesecake and it was so good. Also the fact that in total we paid around €5.80 for this in total is ridiculous. Here those things are way more expensive.

When we arrived back in Amsterdam I was completely relaxed from all the tanning and the sauna visits, but that mood faded quickly when I had to get back to work and worry about uni things. Can't wait to finish uni, get my degree and make myself ready for the next big adventure! Bali anyone?

Do you have any trips planned for the summer?

The Holiday Lipstick Haul

A couple of weeks ago I was on holiday in Bodrum with my friend Hester. Besides soaking up some vitamin sea we also went shopping in the city. I didn't buy a lot, mainly because I didn't need anything, but when I walked past a Turkish drugstore you know I can't contain myself. They had lots of products that I can get in the Netherlands too, but when my eyes fell on the Wet 'n Wild counter I went a bit crazy.
This has resulted in three Wet 'n Wild lipsticks and one Golden Rose liquid lipstick. The girls that worked there probably thought I was a bit cray cray, because why do you need four lip products? That is indeed a very good question that I can't really answer. I just love lipsticks!

Ever since the Kylie Jenner lip kit hype I want to try liquid lipsticks. I really like this red one from Golden Rose in the colour 09 and I immediately wore it the same day when we went out for dinner. I will write a full review and put it up on the blog but all I can say for now is that the pigmentation is very good. After a while it does crumble a bit which I am not the biggest fan of. I must wear it multiple times to make up my mind about it though.

The three Wet 'n Wild lipsticks I picked up are: 'Cinnamon Spice', 'Cherry Bomb' and 'In The Flesh' (on the photo from left to right). The fact that I own many red lipsticks didn't make me change my mind about picking up some more. I love the burgundy tone of 'Cinnamon Spice' a lot. I actually couldn't swatch them in the store so I had to guess what the colours would look like and I think I picked the most perfect shades. I haven't tried them yet, but a review will be up soon!

Have you tried anything from Golden Rose or Wet n' Wild?

The Bodrum & Kos Travel Diary

Last week I had the time of my life whilst I was soaking up the sunshine in Turkey. I hadn't been on a proper summer holiday in forever so I was happy to finally relax, get a tan and not think about all the stuff that I needed to do back home.

I stayed in a resort in Bodrum with my friend Hester, she also has a blog (it is in Dutch though), and even though we don't know each other for that long, we really had a blast and made lots of great memories. In those nine days that we were there we stayed by the pool, went into Bodrum and shopped, visited the Greek island Kos -the 45 minute boat trip made us so sick and dizzy that the first thing we did was going to a Greek pharmacy to buy travel sickness pills haha-, had a lovely hamam treatment and made lots of Instagram pics along the way.

When we came back, the post-holiday blues were SO real. I have never missed something like that for such a long time and I can't wait to go back one day. I think for me it's just the fact that there is sunshine - the Dutch weather sucks- and that I could not really think about my uni to-do list. I probably need to plan a new trip soon -they say that helps- but for now let's look back on this amazing holiday!
