Real Techniques Starter Set

I think make-up brushes are just as important as make-up products. In all these years I have been a fan of two brands that do make-up brushes really well: Zoeva and Real Techniques. Despite the fact that I love them both so much I only have one RT brush: The Expert Face Brush. Now this brush is bloody amazing. I bought it in London two years ago and it still blends in my foundation seamlessly. I think that's why I love Real Techniques so much as a brand, because if this brush is that good the rest of them have to be amazing too.

Now recently I was shopping with my mum and while she was looking for perfumes I stumbled across a pile of the Real Techniques Starter Sets with 33% off. I love make-up just as much as a good discount and after a conversation with me - This set is so cheap! Yeah but do you really need it? Well no, but they are cheap and it's always handy to have more brushes. Okay buy it! - I bought them.

In the set you will find:

A base shadow brush: applies a smooth, flawless foundation of colour.

A deluxe crease brush: soft, oversized design for effortless contouring.

An accent brush: for precision detailing, highlighting and smudging.

A fine liner brush: for precision application of liquid of cream eyeliner.

A brow brush: distinctive shape easily defines eyebrows.

I own a few eyeshadow brushes that I love a lot. The MAC 217 for example is one of my all-time faves, but I don't really like to use it with cream products. These brushes are perfect for any type of eyeshadow and they blend everything in perfectly. I love the base shadow brush a lot, because it applies my eyeshadow so well. Recently I have been using my Clinique Chubby Stick for eyes in Lots O’ Latte a lot and I always blend it out with the base shadow brush. My eyeshadow looks so lovely after blending and it has really made me more excited about taking one of my eyeshadow palettes, that I hardly ever use, and create a gorgeous look.

As a brow junkie the brow brush is also one of my absolute faves. The brushes also come in a really handy case which is always good for travelling and I love the different types of brushes you get in this set. If you just get in to make-up then it's absolutely perfect, because it covers a lot of things; eyeshadow, eyeliner and eyebrows. 

In the end I paid €17.50 for this set, which is a pretty good deal considering it normally sells for €30,00. I think it's a great all-round set for any eye look and I can't wait to buy more Real Techniques brushes. The 301 Flat Contour and Core Collection Set are already on my wish list!

Fleur de Force Lipgloss in Seeing Stars

A few weeks ago I showed you everything I got from Feel Unique and I finally had time to do a review on the Fleur De Force Lipgloss in Seeing Stars. When Fleur announced her beauty line I was quite excited. I have been a viewer of her for years and I think she really deserves everything that comes her way.

The Fleur De Force beauty line consists of eyeshadows, make-up bags and lipglosses. There are six lipgloss shades to choose from and I went for the orangey toned one. 

I will be honest; I am normally not a lipgloss person even though they are more on trend now than they were a couple of years ago. When I ordered this lipgloss I thought it would be more of a nude colour with an orange undertone, but it turned out to be an orange lipgloss. Now I love orange lips. I own Mac Morange and the Esteé Lauder Kendall Jenner lipstick and I love them both a lot. The only problem is that it's not really that time of the year for orange lips. This time around I am all about a dark red lip, but at least I have something to look forward to when the temperature goes up. Besides that I do think it’s a gorgeous colour. Perfect for when you want to wear a bit of colour on your lips, without going for a bold lip

A thing that I also love is the packaging. It's not cheap looking and I love the star detail on the packaging and in the name. It’s really a personal touch of Fleur herself which I quite like. I also love that this lipgloss is very pigmented. They are meant to be a mix between a liquid lipstick and a lipgloss and I totally think it is. The gloss also stays on very well, which I always think is hard to find with lipglosses. I don’t like reapplying a lot during the day, so this is perfect for me.

The lipgloss has a vanilla scent and I don't know if I like it or not, since I don't particularly like the scent of most lipglosses anyway. I do prefer this scent over the sweet strawberry scents that are also on the market. Back in the day I was obsessed with collecting lipglosses. They all had different flavours and colours and it really showed my make-up obsession at a young age. Then I became obsessed with lipsticks and that faze has never really faded.

Overall I am really happy with my purchase. I maybe should've picked a berry colour, but I quite like this orange lipgloss. It's very subtle and not as bold. Perfect for an everyday look and I have to say it's been in my bag ever since I wore it. I just took it out last week, because I was cleaning out my bag and I found five other lip products in there too #IMightHaveAProblem.

I'm in a Magazine?

I have always loved being creative and now that I have my blog I can publish everything I want. Of course it's cool to see people actually reading your posts and complementing you on that Instagram pic, but it's not quite the same as seeing your name in a magazine. Which has been happening a lot recently.

Almost 5,5 months ago I started my internship for a Dutch magazine as an online editor. I write for their website and keep all their social media accounts up-to-date. Besides that I've also gotten a few opportunities to do things for the magazine and interview people. In these past months I have interviewed Sarah Donaldson from Harper & Harley, Victoria from In The Frow, Khadijah Haqq from Dash Dolls and A LOT of other vloggers, bloggers and models.

A few of those interviews were for a special that is now in stores all around the Netherlands called: the Vlogazine. As the name says: it's all about vloggers. I binge watch YouTube videos all the time, so I really enjoyed writing all the different features and even interview some of the most popular vloggers in the Netherlands. I actually got to go to the cover girls photoshoot, meet the four girls and interview them for the cover story. Writing a cover story for a magazine was something that had always been on my wish list and I feel very grateful that I have done that now.

Now that the magazine is finally here I get so excited whenever I see my name on the pages. I know that no one bothers about the person who wrote the article, but at least I get very excited about it. 

For some features I also got in touch with a few international vloggers and it's nice to see they are as lovely over the e-mail as they are in their vlogs. There is actually something exciting in the next issue with a blogger/vlogger that you probably all know, so keep an eye on my Instagram as I will probably post it on there.

It's crazy seeing your name as one of the writers and I hope this is just the beginning for me. I do still love blogging and being creative on the internet. There is just something about it that makes me very excited and as I type this post I feel quite happy that I decided to do Blogmas this year. I thought it would be very challenging for me to type up 24 blogposts in a month, but I still feel very excited about it (ask me again on the 24th of December haha). I know that I have not been as active as I used to be on here, but now you know what I have been up to. I do feel bad when I see that I only posted three posts in one month and I really think Blogmas is inspiring me to do so much more with my blog.
