Tendenza

Today I am talking about an old favourite of mine. When this perfume came out, I absolutely loved it and it’s actually quite some time since I have had this perfume. I saw it in a shop for only €9,99, so I knew that it was an absolute bargain and I couldn’t resist myself from buying a little present.
Perfumes can remind me of a lot of different things. Van Gils Tendenza actually reminds me of my sister. She was also obsessed with this at the time and used it every single day. It was hard not to smell here in the house, haha. A lot of perfumes actually remind me of her, probably because she just loves perfume!
I adore the fruity, floral scent and after a few spritzes it immediately puts me in a better mood. I love the simplicity of Tendenza. Even though, I can appreciate a gorgeous perfume bottle, I don’t mind that it’s all about the scent. Because it’s very fruity, I do find it’s more of a spring/summer perfume. Luckily we are hopefully changing seasons soon, so I can make it my signature scent!

New Shoes

So I thought it was time to introduce you to a new addition in my shoe collection. I bought this pair last month in London and it was love at first sight. These black patent loafers were on my wishlist for a very long time. I knew that I would definitely find a pair in London, because I saw them on many British blogs; and I was right!
In the New Look on Oxford Street I found these amazing shoes! I was actually very tempted to buy them in white too, but I told myself that one pair was enough. For £19,99 they are an absolute bargain and a must for every shoe addict! I love the tassels and the pointed toe. I don’t own anything like this and believe me, I have a lot of shoes!
I find them very versatile and very comfy; although I do need to put tape on the back of my ankle, otherwise there will be a lot of blisters popping up. Not that that really matters, because I will wear them anyways. Unfortunately, due to the weather, I cannot really wear them. It’s sooo cold outside that I cannot permit myself to leave the house without boots, a winter coat and gloves. For me, spring and summer can’t come soon enough, so I can wear these babies again!

What are your favourite shoes at the moment?

*A London haul will go up soon on my blog. I have been busy with editing it, learning for my exams and writing essays. So even though it will be a bit late, I will upload it! Also the fact that I am actually putting up a video of me talking to a camera has to sink in. I love to do it, but when I am editing, I annoy myself a lot, so I just need to get over the boundary of putting up that first video; actually second, but my first video was on the streets of Amsterdam and not really a ‘talky’ video :).*

The Glowing Wonder

During my trip to London in 2013, I discovered a new toner. I am quite picky when it comes to skincare, so to find a new product that I liked, was very exciting for me. Back home I loved it more and more and I was very sad when the bottle was empty.
Luckily I went to London around Christmas and I immediately walked to Carnaby Street to buy a new toner. The Pixi store is small, bright and full of products that make my heart skip a beat. They had plenty of bottles of the toner that I desired: the Pixi Glow Tonic. A new bottle with the same amazing liquid inside, that makes my skin look glowy and healthy.
It’s not your regular toner. The Pixi Glow Tonic helps to tone, firm and tighten the skin and exfoliates it for a healthy glow
I have definitely seen a difference in my skin, when I started to use it again. My skin looks more radiant and healthy, like I have just done a juice detox.  The application of my face make-up also has never been better. Everything blends in so seamlessly and makes it appear flawless.  I cannot wait to go back to London and stock up on more bottles of this wonder toner!

I have actually written about this product before; back in the day where my blogging skills were not very good. Since I love this product so much it is worthy of a second mention, right?

The Breakfast Recipe

Lately, I have been seriously slacking on the healthy eating. I just can’t keep myself away from chocolate and other delicious foods. Since one of my goals, for the New Year, is to eat healthy, I better start right know!
Today I am sharing one of my favourite breakfast recipes. As you might have seen previously on the blog, we can conclude that I am a bit obsessed with porridge. I don’t know what it is, but I love it!

What do you need?
60 grams of oats
One tablespoon of flax seeds
One tablespoon of chia seeds
One tablespoon of hemp seeds
Lots and lots of ground cinnamon
A pinch of cayenne pepper
A pinch of ginger powder
One tablespoon of agave nectar
35 cl water
Two handfuls of raisins
One handful of crushed walnuts
One banana in slices

Put the oats, flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, ginger powder, agave nectar and the water in a small saucepan on a stove. Turn up to medium heat and keep stirring until it is getting a thicker consistency.
Add the raisins and the crushed walnuts to the porridge and keep stirring until the porridge is perfect. Scoop the porridge in a bowl and top it off with slices of banana and a sprinkle of cinnamon. You can add some raisins and walnuts on top if you like that.

That is it: your homemade porridge is done! Full of healthy fibers and vitamins to get your metabolism going!

The DIY Gift

Last week I was busy with preparing for an event that was held on Tuesday. A lot of people helped, so of course we (we as in me and my study group) wanted to thank them for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us.
For me, a ‘thank you present’ never has to be very expensive. If someone puts time and effort into making something, I appreciate that a lot. Since I was on the ‘thank you gift duty’ I decided to turn it into a little DIY blog post!

What do you need?
- A small glass jar with a lid
- ‘Thank you’ cards (I found mine at a craft store)
- Organza fabric or wide ribbons.
- Lots of candy or chocolate

First, take off all the stickers on the glass jar. I always hate it when those stickers don’t come off easily, but luckily I could peel them off in no time!
Fill the jar with lots and lots of sweets! I went for candy and licorice, because most people like that.
Cut out long, wide ribbons from the organza fabric, if you already have wide ribbons, you can go to the next step!
Put the ribbon around the glass jar and make it into a bow. I had no idea how to make a bow, but l learned it last year in a Zoella vlog (at least, I think it was a Zoella vlog). I think the bow looks very festive and cute on the jar and if you are very precise like me, you want to make sure that the bow looks symmetrical for an even better finish.
To finish it, tie the ‘thank you’ card around the ribbon and you are done!

There you have it: your own DIY present that will put a smile on everyone’s face! It looks very thoughtful and super yummy because of all the deliciousness that is inside it. Definitely something I will make more often when I need a cute and small present!

The Glossy Lip

Everyone has a period of time where you just fall out of love with something. For me this was lipgloss. As a kid I absolutely loved it. I believe lipgloss was the first make-up item I ever bought. I had them in every colour, but when I was 14, I got more into lipsticks. A long-lasting love that is still going strong.

Lately I started to change my mind. Maybe glossy lips are not that bad at all. Besides the part that my hair gets stuck in the sticky substance that is on my lips, I quite like it again. These two beauties have helped me with getting my love for shiny gloss back.
These two glosses from Max Factor are very simple, but look super pretty. ‘25 Enchanting Coral’ and ‘45 Luxurious Berry’ are two, gorgeous colours. They both have that typical vanilla lipgloss scent, but I do not mind that at all. Once it is on the lips I do not notice the scent. They are not long-lasting, so you need to reapply many times during the day. I have to do this with many lip products, so I just pop the gloss in my bag and I am good to go.
‘Luxurious Berry’ gives a very sheer tint to the lips. It is nice for those ‘off days’ when you do not want to wear a lot of make-up. ‘Enchanting Coral’ on the other hand gives more coverage for a full, coral lip. I do find it more of a S/S colour, but luckily that season is almost upon us.

I am definitely picking up more beautiful lipglosses. Especially in the warmer months I find glossy lips a must! Hopefully the cold will go away soon and I can pull out all my bright and colourful lipsticks again! :)

The Blush Ensemble

When it comes to blushes I am a bit of an addict. There is something about those bright coloured powders and creams that make me very happy. Since then I have a lot of blushes in my collection, but I keep going towards my faves.

The Estée Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Blush in Tease is an absolute beauty. It is a limited edition and I am happy that I have it in my make-up drawer. This blush gives a beautiful, illuminating sheen and a light pink flush to the cheeks. I just love the packaging and this is definitely my favourite in the spring time.
Now on to the gorgeous pattern of this Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural. A friend of mine picked this up for me when she was in the US. Something about those hearts make me love the product even more. I swirl my brush around all the coloured hearts and it gives a sheer, pink flush to the cheeks. Very pretty indeed!
For fall and winter time this is my go-to blush. Frankly Scarlet by MAC is a classic for me and it gives my cheeks the ultimate winter flush. I did an entire post about this beauty that you can read here.
During my London trip in 2013 I picked up my first ever NARS blush, so this one is very special to me. Deep Throat is super pretty and definitely a must when it comes to blushes. I love the pinky, coral sheen it gives. Perfect for any time of the year!
